  • Publication number: 20090276932
Abstract: This invention concerns a forearm protecting and shock absorbing device (120) covering the forearms from the base of the elbow to the wrist providing protection against attacks with truncheons, even with bladed weapons in various situations. The device may cover only the cubital part (30) of the forearm which is the vulnerable part. The whole device is supported on a covering portion (132) with a surface with a wave-absorbing cushion (134) consisting of Kevlar fibers or similar fibers capable of dispersing a shock wave over a larger surface. The covering portion is provided with sharp-edged points (128) inserted within it.

  • Patent number: 6082741
Abstract: A resilient gasket is disclosed for providing a seal between corrugated pipes having a plurality of concentric ribs on their outer surfaces, such as drain and sewer pipes to be buried in soil. The gasket comprises a base which is received around a first pipe over top of a rib adjacent an end of the first pipe, with an inner surface adapted to mate with a radially outer surface of the rib, and with legs adapted to extend along forward and rearwardly-sloped faces of the rib. The outer surface of the base is provided with sealing elements to engage the inner surface of the bell adjacent the end of a second pipe. The gasket also has a flap extending outwardly and forwardly from the forwardly extending leg. The flap and the forward leg form a V-shaped member. The flap engages the inner surface of the bell when the first pipe is inserted into the second pipe, and the gasket is rotated rearwardly relative to the rib.

  • Patent number: 5168672
Abstract: An abrasive paper sheet holder having a base provided with clamping shoulders formed in a pair of opposed side edges thereof. A handle member is detachably secured over a rear surface of the base. The handle member has opposed flexible flange walls for clamping opposed end edge portions of an abrasive paper sheet which is positioned over a front working surface of the base with the edge portions of the paper sheet extending over the clamping shoulders. The handle member applies a wedging pressure on the flexible flange walls to immovably clamp the opposed edge portions of the abrasive paper sheet between the end edges of the flexible flange walls and the clamping shoulders.
