  • Patent number: 6360969
Abstract: A nozzle element is described, which can is inserted into a nozzle body, either fixed in position or adjustably, and together with the nozzle body forms a component of a windshield wiper system of a motor vehicle. The nozzle element consists of a hard metallic, ball-like base body and a cylindrical projection formed in one piece with the body. A hose-like resilient sleeve is pulled tightly onto the body, and closes off the outer ends of transverse channels which are in flow connection with a centered flow channel. Via the channel, washing fluid for the windshield is supplied under pressure. Thereby, the resilient sleeve bulges outwards so that the fluid can flow out of the nozzle element on the inside of the sleeve and on the outside of the cylindrical projection via an annular channel formed under pressure.

  • Patent number: 6253412
Abstract: The invention concerns a wiper or an exchange kit for a wiper for a windshield wiper installation for the cleaning of a windshield of a vehicle with a wiper blade that is retained on an oblong retaining structure by means of retaining claws of the retaining structure gripping the head strip of the wiper blade from the top and engaging in longitudinal grooves that are formed on opposite longitudinal sides of the head strip. An end bracket that is attached to one end of the head strip retains the wiper blade longitudinally on the retaining structure such that it cannot inadvertently get lost, while a snap-arm that is part of the end bracket traverses the correlated end claw of the retaining structure and snaps into place behind the interior front side of the end claw by means of a snap element. In order to make the exchange of a wiper blade easier, the snap-arm of the end bracket has an essentially oblong flat shape and extends flush along one longitudinal side of the head strip that is part of the wiper blade.

  • Patent number: 6119300
Abstract: A windshield wiper blade for a vehicle windshield wiper device features a wiper blade rubber made of a resiliently deformable material which exhibits a backing to which two parallel wiper lips are connected by means of a flexible neck and an intensive-cleaning element attached to each of the mutually remote longitudinal sides of the wiper lips, wherein the intensive-cleaning element leading relative to the direction of motion of the wiper blade rubber and the wiping edge of the trailing wiper lip contacts the windshield. In order to improve the wiping quality of the wiper blade rubber, both wiper lips exhibit an essentially triangular cross-section of standard wiper blade rubbers and are connected to the backing in such a way that, when the wiper is operating, each can be supported on the bottom side of the backing with a shoulder lying at the rear in relation to the direction of motion.

  • Patent number: 6119302
Abstract: A wiper squeegee is mounted in the holding claws of a support frame. The capability of the wiper squeegee to shift in the longitudinal direction is limited by a fixed first stop on a first end of the support frame and a second stop which can move between a holding position and a release position on a second end of the support frame. An end piece on which the second stop is mounted is fastened on the second end of the support frame so that the end piece can rotate around a geometric axis which runs at least approximately parallel to the longitudinal direction of the wiper squeegee. This end piece can be locked, at least in the holding position.

  • Patent number: 6065180
Abstract: A connection between a wiper arm and the bracket of a wiper blade that is easy to manipulate during wiper blade changes but nevertheless is a secure rotatable connection, for a wiper blade in which a connector is provided on the wiper arm or the wiper rod, is achieved as follows; the connector has a through-hole with inside thread; the through-hole is placed concentrically to a geometric axis running transversely; a screw serving as the hinge pin is screwed into the through-hole, and in this way a releasable frictional engagement between the screw and the connector is created. The screw is fitted on its opposite ends with cylindrical bearing segments which protrude laterally out of the through-hole of the connector and are mounted rotatably in the respective bearing holes in the side walls of he connecting segment of the wiper blade bracket.
