  • Publication number: 20220369556
Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatuses for automatically controlling a position of a reel relative to wing of an agricultural header in response to movement of the wing are disclosed. In some instances, a position of the reel, such as a portion of the reel, is located at a different position relative to the wing based on an amount of articulation of the wing, such as an amount of angular displacement of the wing relative to a datum, such as a center frame of the header.

  • Publication number: 20220192089
Abstract: A harvesting system includes a header pivotally attached to a combine. The header includes a center section to which a left wing and right wing are pivotally attached. A suspension system of the harvesting system includes first and second engageable states that enable dynamic wing behavior and reduce structural load. The first state corresponds to a harvesting configuration of the header in which the wings are allowed to pivot to allow the header to follow changes in terrain. The second state corresponds to a configuration in which the header is elevated relative to the ground. In the second state, the ability of the wings to pivot is minimized as compared to the first state, which allows the header to be maintained in a substantially flat configuration while minimizing the amount of dynamic load imparted by the header on the combine during non-harvesting transport of the header.

  • Publication number: 20220151153
Abstract: A pickup reel assembly that includes a hub and multiple bat assemblies where each bat assembly rotates through a functional area where it moves crop material into a harvester, and a non-functional area where it does not move crop material into the harvester. Each bat assembly rotates at a first speed through the functional area and at a second speed through the non-functional area, where the second speed is greater than the first speed. A nominal speed shaft can rotate at the first speed, and an increased speed shaft can rotate at the second speed. Cogs can couple the bat assembly to the increased speed shaft when it is in the non-functional area. The cogs can also couple the bat assembly to the nominal speed shaft when it is in the functional area.
