Abstract: A menu effect layer that allows improved visibility of selected menu items and a new and fun interface to a user are disclosed. The method includes the steps of providing a background layer to display a background having a plurality of tiles corresponding to menu items of the mobile communication terminal, providing an icon layer, corresponding to each tile of the background layer, to display the contents of the menu item corresponding to each tile, providing a selecting pad layer, corresponding to each tile of the background layer, to display the tile shifted by means of an input using an indicator, and providing a menu effect layer to output predetermined visual effects to the tile indicated by the indicator so that the user of the mobile communication terminal can easily see the current state of the tile indicated by the indicator of the selecting pad layer.

Abstract: A mobile communication terminal capable of editing avatar motions. The mobile communication terminal includes a memory and a controller. The memory stores a plurality of commands corresponding respectively to a plurality of avatar motions. The plurality of commands are associated with a plurality of numerals, respectively. The controller displays specific avatar motions of the plurality of avatar motions in order. The specific avatar motions correspond respectively to numerals included in a phone number corresponding to an incoming or outgoing call if the incoming or outgoing call is performed.

Abstract: Disclosed are a method for generating and providing a user interface and a method for generating and providing a user interface for use in a mobile communication terminal. The method enables the user interface to be readily used in the mobile communication terminal. A method for generating a user interface to be provided to a mobile communication terminal configuring the user interface by combining different layers, includes the steps of: a) generating picture data corresponding to a specific layer of the user interface; b) determining the layer of the generated picture data and determining a location and a size of the picture data; and c) if the layer is determined, locating the generated picture data having a predetermined size in a corresponding location, transparently processing others except for the picture data, and storing the data.

Abstract: To configure and display a user interface in a mobile communication terminal, capable of displaying various user interfaces, which can be readily changed in the mobile communication terminal including a display unit for displaying letters, symbols and picture data, and further includes a memory including at least two layers for storing display data and transparent data; and a controller for reading data of different layers, combining the data, configuring shape data, and controlling the display unit to display the shape data.
