  • Patent number: 7552241
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and system for managing I/O interfaces with an array of multicore processor resources in a semiconductor chip. The I/O interfaces are connected to the processor resources through an I/O shim. An I/O interface sends a dataframe to the I/O shim. The I/O interface packetizes data to form the dataframe, based on an I/O protocol. The dataframe includes a header and the data. The I/O shim identifies a command corresponding to the dataframe by using one or more of the processor resources. The command includes a set of tasks. Subsequently, the set of tasks is executed on the data.

  • Publication number: 20030041225
Abstract: Each processor in a distributed shared memory system has an associated memory and a coherence directory. The processor that controls a memory is the Home processor. Under certain conditions, another processor may obtain exclusive control of a data block by issuing a Load Lock instruction, and obtaining a writeable copy of the data block that is stored in the cache of the Owner processor. If the Owner processor does not complete operations on the writeable copy of the data prior to the time that the data block is displaced from the cache, it issues a Victim To Shared message, thereby indicating to the Home processor that it should remain a sharer of the data block. In the event that another processor seeks exclusive rights to the same data block, the Home processor issues an Invalidate message to the Owner processor.

  • Patent number: 5125296
Abstract: An ergonomic, pneumatically-powered hand tool for installing hose clamps comprises an elongated barrel projecting from a pistol grip housing which pivotally mounts a locking jaw assembly for securely grasping clamps to be installed. A trigger-controlled valve assembly coupled to a source of high pressure air powers the tool. The jaw assembly comprises a pair of identical jaws pivotally coupled together to define a clamp-receptive mouth. Each jaw comprises a plurality of serially interconnected channels defined along the gripping end of each jaw, adapting the mouth to both accommodate clamps of varying sizes and to restrain clamps as they are compressed during installation. The gripping ends project outwardly beyond the barrel, and are spaced apart from the opposing terminal ends. An integral bearing plate is defined between the terminal end and the gripping end. The terminal ends of the jaws are resiliently biased together by a spring.

  • Patent number: 4845827
Abstract: Apparatus for assembling and installing Luer fittings comprises a hand held tool and an associated jig. The main body of the tool comprises an elongated, generally cylindrical housing externally configured to define a comfortable hand grip. An integral, reduced diameter nozzle projects forwardly from the housing for selectively, slidably engaging the male portion of a desired Luer fitting to be assembled. The housing concentrically mounts a spring-biased plunger driven by an external button adapted to be contacted by the user's hand. A metallic drive pin emanating from the plunger drive shaft penetrates the housing nozzle. An internal snap ring seated within an internal housing ring groove limits longitudinal plunger motion. The apparatus also includes an associated jig adapted to be mounted upon a supporting work surface. The jig firmly retains the locking ring of a Luer fitting in proper position for assembly.

  • Patent number: 4535925
Abstract: A semi-automatic hand-held pneumatic gun for installing plastic rivets. The gun includes a handle equipped with a manual trigger, and an associated magazine which serially feeds a plurality of stored rivets. Repetitive semi-automatic cycling of the gun is established by cooperation between a triggered air system, an intermediate pneumatic system, and a pneumatic barrel assembly. The trigger valve establishes a plurality of pneumatic pathways between it a manifold and the intermediate pneumatic system, activating first and second intermediate valves disposed within the intermediate valve pneumatic chamber. The barrel chamber includes an elongated ram and an associated piston. When the trigger valve is in a rest position, a pneumatic path is established whereby the first intermediate valve is biased to a rest position establishing another pneumatic path biasing the piston to a rest position.

  • Patent number: 4493205
Abstract: Pneumatically powered expansion rivet applicator tools. Each of the tools described herein comprise a rigid body adapted to be manually grasped by the user. First and second pneumatic cavities are housed within the body. Pneumatic coupling means associated with the body supply high pressure air to the first cavity. A fitting associated with the body receives the cylindrical shank of an expansion rivet to be installed by the tool. Fluid flow passageway means interconnect the first and second cavities, and an internal valve permits passage of high pressure air through the passageway between the first and second cavities. Piston means are slidably disposed within the second cavity, and, in response to pressurization of the second cavity, virtually instantaneously contacts associated firing pin means to forceably ram the expansion rivet shank, thereby installing the rivet.
