  • Publication number: 20070295573
Abstract: Embodiments of a vibration damper and/or torque transfer device and a method for assembly thereof are provided herein. In one embodiment, a vibration damper and/or torque transfer device includes a pocket plate having a first surface and an opposing second surface. The pocket plate further has a recess formed therein on the first surface and a throughbore extending from a bottom surface of the recess to the second surface of the pocket plate. A strut is disposed in the recess and a cap is aligned with the throughbore proximate the second surface of the pocket plate. A resilient member is disposed within the throughbore between a bottom surface of the strut and the floor plate.

  • Publication number: 20060252556
Abstract: A method and apparatus for transferring torque from one rotatable element to another rotatable element using at least one pawl. The apparatus comprises a first rotatable element having at least one recess, a second rotatable element and at least one pawl coupled from the second rotatable element to the at least one recess. The method comprises coupling a first rotatable element, wherein the first rotatable element comprises at least one pawl to a second rotatable element, wherein the second rotatable element comprises at least one recess; rotating the first rotatable element; engaging the first rotatable element with the second rotatable element by adapting the at least one pawl to couple with the at least one recess; and transferring torque from the first rotatable element to the second rotatable element.

  • Publication number: 20060070864
Abstract: A switch mechanism such as a circuit breaker includes a trip indicator mechanism. The switch mechanism includes a switch contact and a rocker movable between a first position in which the contacts are closed, a second position indicating that an electrical fault has occurred, in which the contacts are open, and a third position in which the switch mechanism has been reset and the contacts are open. The rocker preferably comprises two rocker members hinged together with one of the rocker members having a step formation between a front face and an end face. The step formation carries an instruction regarding resetting of the mechanism and lies substantially flush with the front panel of the circuit breaker housing, with the face of the first rocker member standing partially proud of the front panel, when the rocker is in the second position. The mechanism allows a user to distinguish between manual switching off of the circuit breaker and tripping due to a fault.

  • Patent number: 6276017
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device 10 for scraping the inner walls of a pipeline. The device has (i) a flexible shaft 16 of elastomeric material, (ii) a plurality of groups of flexible radial scraping bars 14 which are spaced apart and offset angularly so that the bars are able to scrape substantially the entire inner surface of the pipeline, and (iii) a flexible covering 12 which coats the entire assembly formed by the said flexible shaft and by the bars, with the exception of the outer ends of the bars.

  • Patent number: 5607047
Abstract: A modular housing for a circuit breaker has first and second opposed side panels which engage one another at respective upper and lower edges defined by transversely extending flanges. The mated flanges define the upper and lower edges of the housing. When assembled, the side panels define an enclosure with front and rear openings, with grooves on the inner edges of the openings which receive tongues of respective modular front and rear panels of the circuit breaker housing. The front panel has an opening through which an operating lever protrudes when the housing is assembled, and the operating lever pivots on formations on the inner surfaces of the side panels. The modular construction of the circuit breaker housing allows different front and rear panels to be fitted to a common shell. For example, a range of circuit breakers having different operating handles and different terminal configurations can be provided at a relatively low cost.

  • Patent number: 5557082
Abstract: A circuit breaker mechanism is provided with a U-shaped tripping lever which has a base and first and second parallel legs. The tripping lever is arranged around the magnetic frame of the circuit breaker and is mounted on pivot points which coincide with the pivot axis of the circuit breaker armature. On one leg is an outwardly extending projection, while on the other leg is a complemental cavity. A number of circuit breakers can be assembled side-by-side, with the projection on the tripping lever of a first circuit breaker engaging the cavity in the tripping lever of an adjacent circuit breaker. Thus, when one circuit breaker is tripped, the others are tripped together with it.
