    Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for shortening the time to synchronize video/audio data in a mobile communication terminal. The method comprises receiving video/audio data in the mobile communication terminal through a set session, determining whether a current sampling rate of the received video/audio data is consistent with a previous sampling rate of the received video/audio data, calculating a standard time according to the determination, and synchronizing the video/audio data based on the calculated standard time. The standard time is calculated using a preset ratio if the current sampling rate is consistent with the previous sampling rate. However, the standard time is calculated using a variation value of a real time protocol (RTP) time stamp and a variation value of a network time protocol (NTP) time stamp if the current sampling rate is not consistent with the previous sampling rate.

    Abstract: Undesired key depression of a mobile device is prevented using a predetermined key activation pattern. This pattern includes successively pressing one or more keys of the mobile device a predetermined number of times. When this occurs, the mobile device converts from a key depression preventing mode to a half-operation mode. During this latter mode, functions corresponding to key inputs are automatically performed, provided they are input within a prescribed period of time. Otherwise, the mobile device converts back to the key depression preventing mode. As a result, undesired operation and power consumption of the mobile device is prevented.

    Abstract: Methods and systems directed to telephone number retrieval are provided. A terminal requests a telephone number from a telephone number service. A voice response comprising the telephone number is received from the telephone number service. A feature vector sequence is stored in memory of the terminal as a reference pattern for the received voice response. The voice response has designated words between and among numbers of the telephone number. A keyword spotting routine searches for the designated words. Connecting words, located between and among designated words, comprising the telephone number are extracted and stored in a buffer. A number recognizer analyzes contents of the buffer. The number recognizer outputs a recognized telephone number for display on a terminal and/or storage in memory for future use.

The number of the formants are judged by applying Cauchy's integral formula, wherein Cauchy's integral formula is not applied repeatedly but only once at a surrounding portion of the maximum value in a z-domain.
