  • Publication number: 20070103652
Abstract: The present invention provides method for producing a substantially seamless video image on a display surface. The method comprises the steps of separately projecting at least a first and a second video image onto a display surface such that a seam is defined by overlapping portions of said first and second video images. Inside the seam, the brightness of the first video image and the brightness of the second video image are adjusted electronically so as to provide a uniform brightness profile.

  • Publication number: 20070103653
Abstract: A segmented display system in which the display devices are arranged in a N×1 array is described. The segmented display system includes a plurality of projection devices that each project a portion of an image on a corresponding one of the display devices in the N×1 array. • Publication number: 20060117004
Abstract: A system and method for contextually understanding and analyzing system use and misuse are described. In one preferred embodiment, one or more trigger events are detected and information related to the events is received. One or more exception rules are retrieved from exception rules tables within a database and the exception rules are applied to the received information. If a valid exception is identified, an exception notification is created and stored in oversight record tables within the database for further processing. Appropriate recipient users to receive the exception notification are identified from the actions, transactions, and contextual information tables within the database and the exception notification is further transmitted to the identified recipient users.

  • Publication number: 20060105806
Abstract: A combination mobile terminal and camera comprising a housing and a camera device integrated into a first portion of the housing. The camera device and the first portion of the housing in which the camera is integrated are moveable between a first position where the first portion of the housing is substantially aligned with a remaining second portion of the housing and a second misaligned position. In the first position, the camera may be oriented substantially parallel to a keypad, keyboard, or display in the housing. Individual buttons of a keypad on the housing may be used to control mobile terminal functions in one mode and camera functions in another mode. Certain individual buttons of the keypad may be rotatable with the camera. The alignment of the camera is such that it is possible to add additional optical elements to the optical path.

  • Patent number: 6998145
Abstract: An improved method for making cheese is provided. The method comprises pasteurizing and acidifying one or more dairy components to obtain a cheese diary product. The cheese dairy product is coagulated to form a coagulum comprising curd and whey. The coagulum is cut and the whey is removed therefrom, thereby leaving the curd. The curd is heated and kneaded to produce a fiberous mass. An extender is added to the curd or to the fiberous mass, and the extender comprises at least one source of fat. The fiberous mass is processed to produce a cheese product. By this method. By this method, the casein/fat ratio can be increased early in the process so that less fat is wasted through removal with the whey. The fat content of the cheese product can then increased later in the process through the use of the extender, thereby creating a more cost-effective product.

  • Publication number: 20050143124
Abstract: Mobile terminal with ergonomic imaging functions. The present invention, by way of example embodiments, provides for a mobile terminal with ergonomic imaging or camera functions. A single display can be used, for example in portrait mode while terminal functions are being used and in landscape mode while imaging functions are being used. The change between the two orientations can be accomplished automatically. In some embodiments, the capability is also provided to process an image for assignment to a terminal function, where the image has at least one display attribute that makes it at least partly unsuitable for use with the terminal function. The processing may include resizing, cropping, and/or rotating the image. This processing can be accomplished for example, so that a landscape image can be viewed conveniently in a portrait orientation.

  • Publication number: 20050051514
Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention provides a system to facilitate using selective etching to form optical components on a circuit device. The system operates by receiving a substrate composed of a first material including a buffer layer composed of a second material. The system forms a sacrificial layer composed of a third material on the buffer layer. Next, the system forms an optical fiber core composed of a fourth material on the sacrificial layer. After the optical fiber core has been formed, the system performs an etching operation using a selective etchant to remove the sacrificial layer. The system also applies a cladding layer to the optical fiber core.

  • Patent number: 6130521
Abstract: Charging devices for handheld radiotelephones, are provided that are convertible between a desk mounted configuration and a wall mounted configuration. A charging device includes a wedge-shaped lower housing portion and a wedge-shaped upper housing portion that can be rotated relative to each other. A cradle is disposed within the upper housing portion that is configured to support a radiotelephone. The lower and upper housing portions are adapted to be matingly secured together in a first orientation relative to one another so that a radiotelephone is maintained in an upright position when a charging device is supported by a horizontal surface, such as a desktop. In addition, the lower and upper housing portions are adapted to be matingly secured together in a second orientation relative to one another so that a radiotelephone is maintained in an upright position when a charging device is supported by a vertical surface, such as a wall.

  • Patent number: 5927673
Abstract: A viewing stand for an electronic device is composed of a mounting plate, a base, a selection arm, and a pivot pin. The base is pivotally connected to the mounting plate by the pivot pin. The selection arm is rotatably coupled to the base. A viewing position can be selected by rotating the base to a desired position. A desired position can correspond to an upright position, whereby the electronic device can be viewed horizontally, or to a gently sloping position, whereby the electronic device can be viewed from above. Once the base is in the desired position, the selection arm can be inserted into a corresponding positioning receptacle located on the mounting plate. Multiple positioning receptacles permit multiple viewing positions, thus enhancing the viewing options for the user of the electronic device. When no longer needed, the viewing stand folds flat against the electronic device to maintain a narrow profile.

  • Patent number: 5325884
Abstract: This invention provides an air control system which is retrofittable in an intermediate position between upstream compressors and air storage vessels and downstream useful production equipment or the like to provide benefits of greater air-utilization efficiency and a better air system balance between supply and demand, especially on an air-weight flow basis. A preferred embodiment employs a plurality of servo-driven flow controllers in parallel between a pair of header tanks and controls them in response to sensed downstream pressures and to the pressure differential across the control system.

  • Patent number: 4091088
Abstract: A complex of a chelating agent is formed and labelled with technetium-99m. The chelating agent is either an ethylenediamine carboxylic acid or its salt having a phenolic group at each end of the molecule such as EDDHA and HBED or alternatively the phenolic amino carboxylic acid or its salt having a single phenolate group such as HBG or HBS. The complex is a stannous complex which when labelled with technetium-99m has a good balance of lipo-solubility and waater-solubility to permit hepato-biliary imaging. The radiopharmaceutical may be useful for assessing hepatobiliary function in animals including human beings. A particularly useful chelating agent is ethylene-bis-(.alpha.-imino-2-hydroxy-5-bromophenyl acetic acid).
