Abstract: In a method for an electronic device to adjust fool-proofing functions of operations, an algorithm corresponding to each of the operations, and ranges for triggering the fool-proofing functions of the operations are preset. When an operation inputted by an operator is obtained, the method calculates a skilled value of the operation according to reference parameters of the operator and an algorithm corresponding to the operation. The method further determines a fool-proofing function of the operation that is triggered by the electronic device according to the skilled value and the ranges for triggering the fool-proofing functions, and adjusts the electronic device to execute the determined fool-proofing function.

Abstract: In a method for splitting an image for encoding purposes, a largest coding unit (LCU) of the image is obtained, the LCU divided into a plurality of 2N×2N blocks, the 2N×2N blocks examined sequentially, and a determination made as to whether or not the current 2N×2N block needs to be split according to a pixel variance of the current 2N×2N block. The method further determines whether a block merging operation needs to be executed for the LCUs according to an average value of pixels of each of the 2N×2N blocks if the current 2N×2N block does not need to be split.

Abstract: An image retrieval method applies an application server, one or more calculating servers, and a sorting server to perform image retrieval. The application server extracts visual features of an exemplary image. The one or more calculating servers calculate similarities of available images according to the visual features of the exemplary image. The sorting server sorts the available images according to the similarities so as to obtain images similar to the exemplary image.

Abstract: A method provides fast data transmission between electronic devices, and avoids network congestion. A number of electronic devices in a network are divided into a client group including client devices and a server group including service devices. A control device for each client device is appointed from among the service devices according to a connection quality between the client device and the service device, and a route path between every two service devices is determined according to a connection quality between every two service devices. A route table of each service device is created according to the route path between every two service devices, and requested data is transmitted from a target device to a request device according to the route path.

Abstract: In a method for transmitting videos from a server to a client, a frame of one of the videos is captured, and a capture time of the frame is recorded into a storage device of the server. When the capturing time of the frame is greater than all of an encoding time, a transmitting time, and a decoding time of a previous frame, a bit rate of encoding the frame is adjusted to decrease a size of the frame and then the frame is encoded according to the adjusted bit rate. When the capture time of the frame is equal to or less than any of the encode time, the transmitting time, and the decoding time of the previous frame, the frame is encoded normally. The frame is then transmitted to the client device.

Abstract: A method for managing tags of virtual machines in a server involves presetting tags of the virtual machines. The preset tags include system tags and customized tags. Abstract: In a method for encoding and transmitting a picture to a client device, data of a picture is encoded by a progressive encoding method on a server and stored in a buffer of the server, and an amount of data of the picture transmitted to the client device at a time is determined according to a kind of the progressive encoding method. The amount of the data transmitted to the client device at a time is reduced if a current window size is not equal to or larger than a last window size, and is increased if the current window size is equal to or larger than the last window size. The data is transmitted from the server, and decoded and displayed on the client device.
