Abstract: A method for searching related terms first calculates a direct relationship between every two of a plurality of query terms to obtain a direct related matrix, and calculates a related score between every two of the query terms to obtain a related score matrix. The method further calculates an indirect relationship between every two of the query terms according to the direct relationship and the related score, and determines indirect terms of each query term according to the indirect relationship between every two of the query terms.

Abstract: A method for isolating and cutting out figures in a design patent document divides each page of a figure section of the design patent document into a multiplicity of areas according to histograms, which are created based on information of black pixels and white pixels in a black-and-white image of the page. The method selects the areas that include the figures of the design patent, and displays the selected areas on a display device.

Abstract: A method for cutting out a summary diagram of a patent document reads a first page of a patent document and divides the first page into multiple blocks. The method selects the block which has a width value greater than a predetermined width value, and cut off blank areas of the selected block, to maintain a area that includes the summary diagram in the selected block. The method displays the area as the diagram in a search result of the patent document on a display device, and the area contains all the text of the first page if no summary diagram is in the first page.

Abstract: A method for identifying components in figures extracts component numbers in a description section of a patent document that are coupled with a component name, and creates a component information list based on the component numbers. The method distinguishes each component number and respective positions of all the component numbers in a figure section of the patent document. The method detects a position of a cursor displayed on a display device when the figure section is being viewed. The method searches for a component name of a component number from the component information list when the cursor is positioned within a preset region around the component number, and displays the component name beside the component number in the figure section of the patent document on the display device.

Abstract: In a desktop sharing method implemented by a server, the server communicates with a sharing provider through a first network and one or more sharing receivers through a second network. A desktop sharing request to share the desktop of the sharing provider with a sharing receiver is received from the sharing provider. The desktop sharing request is sent to the sharing receiver, and a response message is received from the sharing receiver. A bandwidth of the second network between the server and the sharing receiver is detected if the sharing receiver accepts the desktop sharing request, and a video of the desktop of the sharing provider composed of base layer video streams and additional layer video streams are received in real-time. The base layer video streams and the additional layer video streams of the video are selectively transmitted to the sharing receiver according to the bandwidth.

Abstract: A method for automatically typesetting patent images extracts a brief introduction of each patent image from a description part of a patent document, and records a keyword of the brief introduction. The method distinguishes an image label of each patent image from an image part of the patent document. The method rotates the patent image by ninety degrees clockwise in response that the image label of the patent image does not contain the keyword, and outputs the rotated image onto a display device.

Abstract: A method for performing file search using a control computer receives an initial query expression from a client computer, divides the initial query expression into one or more keywords, determines related terms corresponding to each keyword, merges the keywords and the related terms to obtain an updated query expression, and generates search results according to the updated query expression. The method further calculates relevance scores among a plurality of documents in the search results and the updated query expression, ranks the documents in the search results according to the relevance scores, and displays the documents in the search results with the ranked order.

Abstract: A method for seeking a file position of a file first seeks an estimated file position corresponding to a specified time point in the file, and adjusts the estimated file position according to a preset estimation formula. In response to display a confidential document on a display device, a protection image is generated based on a security image of the confidential document. The protection image is a copy of the security image that is offset from the security image by a predetermined distance in a vertical direction or a horizontal direction. The security image and the protection image are synchronously transmitted to the display device. The display device displays an overlapping picture based on the two images. The eyeglasses receive the overlapping picture, and separate the overlapping picture into two images. One of the two images is viewable by the left eye of a viewer, and another image is viewable by the right eye of the viewer.

Abstract: A method embeds product information in videos with product placements using an electronic device. The electronic device defines product information of one or more products that are embedded in a video, and embeds the product information in an image file having a file format that is compatible with the video, the embedding according to appearance times of the one or more products. During display of the video on the display device, the electronic device determines whether the image file includes product information about a product that is presented during display of the video. If the image file includes product information about the product, the electronic device displays a prompt on the display device concurrently with the product. After receiving a selection operation to select the prompt, the electronic device displays the product information on the display device.

Abstract: A method for encoding images receives a specified type of an image request from a terminal device, obtains encoded images from a storage device of the server directly upon the condition that the image request has been processed.
