  • Patent number: 5214842
Abstract: A crimper includes two elongated handle members each having a press portion, and a solid head member disposed between the two press portions of the elongated handle members. The head member has a plurality of differently-sized receiving spaces, two opposed contact faces and a plurality of sets of throughbore pairs extending from one of the contact faces. A plurality of press members are respectively disposed in the throughbores but protrude out from one of the contact faces. When the first and second handle members are pivoted to the head member, the handle members can pivot relative to the head member between a gripping position, wherein the press portions abut with the contact faces and urge the press members to extend into the respective receiving spaces, and a releasing position, wherein the press portions of the first and second handle members are spaced from the contact faces to permit the press members to extend out of the contact faces.

  • Patent number: 5184404
Abstract: A wire cutter includes a fixed handle having an enlarged top end and a movable handle which has a top end pivoted to the enlarged top end and a gear unit stationarily provided on the top end. An elongated plate has a first end to which the gear unit is pivoted and a second end. A gear member is pivoted to the second end and meshes with the gear unit. A fixed cutting member includes a lower mounting portion fixed to the enlarged top end and an upper curved cutting portion. A curved movable cutting member is pivoted to the cutting portion and has one side formed with a toothed section. An extension spring is connected to the first end of the plate and the movable handle and biases the plate so that the plate inclines upwardly to permit engagement between the toothed section and the gear member. A pawl member is resiliently pivoted to the enlarged top end adjacent the gear member opposite to the gear unit.

  • Patent number: 5063770
Abstract: A crimping tool includes an elongated first handle member, a pair of head plates pivoted to the front portion of the first handle member, and an elongated second handle member having a front portion pivoted on the head plates to allow movement of its rear portion away from and towards the rear portion of the first handle member. The second handle member has a curved toothed section formed on its front portion. A pawl member is resiliently mounted between the head plates and engages with the curved toothed section of the second handle member when the second handle member moves toward the first handle member. A first stripping plate is fixed on the middle of the first handle member and has one side formed with a plurality of first stripping grooves. The first handle member further has a rectangular opening adjacent to the first stripping plate and a plurality of second stripping grooves formed in the rectangular opening and aligned with the first stripping grooves.

  • Patent number: 5012666
Abstract: A crimp tool includes a first handle, a head member pivoted to the front portion of the first handle to serve as a clamping member, and a second handle pivoted to the head member. The second handle is connected to the first handle through a mechanism which urges the second handle and the head member to the releasing position thereof. An adjustment member for the jaws of the crimp tool includes an adjustment screw rod and two nuts to adjust the position of a pivot pin in an oblong pivot hole which pivots the head member to the first handle member so that conductors of different cross-sections can be crimped effectively.

  • Patent number: 4981032
Abstract: A crimper for crimping terminals of electrical conductors includes upper and lower elongated members pivoted to one another and having rear handle portions. A first crimping component is provided anterior to the pivot point of the elongated members and includes a first press member formed on the lower elongated member and a first stepped recess formed on the upper elongated member. A second crimping compenent is provided posterior to the pivot point and includes a second press member and a second stepped recess respectively formed on the upper and lower elongated members. Both first and second press members are attached pivotally to the lower and upper elongated member so that the press members can be guided easily into the stepped recesses to effect crimping operations.

  • Patent number: 4703674
Abstract: An electrical pliers includes two posterior arms and two anterior arms overlapped and pivoted together, the posterior arms serving as handles and the anterior arms acting as jaw members. In the anterior arms are mounted wire stripping jaw members and wire clamping jaw members which extend transversely and partly out of the respective anterior arms. When the handles are depressed to approach one another, movable jaw members are moved to fixed jaw members in a direction parallel to a longitudinal axis of the pliers so as to clamp and cut the insulation layer of a wire, and then the anterior arms open to remove the cut portion of the insulation layer.
