  • Patent number: 10141583
Abstract: A bipolar plate for a fuel cell, including a profiled anode plate and a profiled cathode plate, each having an active region and two distribution regions for feeding and discharging operating media to and from the active region, and each distribution region having a main anode-gas port for supplying and evacuating fuel, a main cathode-gas port for supplying and evacuating oxidant and a main coolant port for supplying and evacuating coolant, the ports being arranged along a lateral edge of the bipolar plate. The plates are stacked so that the bipolar plate has channels interconnecting the main operating media ports of both distribution regions, and the distribution regions have at least one overlapping section, in which the channels overlap such that they do not form fluidic connections. A fuel cell is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20180332838
Abstract: The patent discloses a crimp sleeve for the fixation of two or more sections of wire, line, or similar material to each other. The crimp sleeve consists of an outer compressible and permanently deformable layer which is hard and resistant, and an inner cushion layer, which is softer and which conforms to the sections of material to be attached to each other. The multi-layered structure of the crimp sleeve allows for secure fixation without the risk of breakage or slippage of the connection. The invention applies primarily to fishing leaders that have looped ends, but can be applied to other areas where two or more sections of wire or line need to be secured to each other by crimping.

  • Patent number: 10033632
Abstract: A method and network device are disclosed for multicast forwarding. In one embodiment, the method includes receiving at a node configured to use a bit-indexed forwarding table a multicast message comprising an incoming message bit array. The method further includes comparing the incoming message bit array to a first neighbor bit array within a first forwarding table entry, and determining that for at least one relative bit position in the bit arrays a corresponding destination node is both a destination for the message and a reachable destination from a first neighboring node. The method further includes forwarding toward the first neighboring node a copy of the message, where a first node on the path of the forwarded message is not configured to use a respective bit-indexed forwarding table. An embodiment of the device includes a network interface, a memory and a processor configured to perform steps of the method.

  • Patent number: 10020083
Abstract: A supported radiation protective garment is presented that can be worn by a medical provider under a standard surgical gown during procedures that involve the use of radiation. When used by the provider, the protective garment is lifted by vertical support members which can be extended downward and retracted upward. Rolling or sliding means at the lower end of the vertical support members allow the provider to move unhindered while wearing the radiation protective garment. The provider has access to a control mechanism that allows the shifting between retracted and extended positions of the vertical support members without breaking sterility. An alternative embodiment presents an upper apron portion of the protective garment, which can be manually connected by an assistant to a lower rolling base portion. The invention allows the provider to wear a heavy protective garment, offering significantly better radiation protection than standard ‘lead aprons’, while not being burdened by the weight of the garment.

  • Publication number: 20180023526
Abstract: A combination of a fuel tank assembly and a tool for opening an outlet of the fuel tank assembly. The assembly includes a tank for storing a liquid hydrocarbon; and an operator-openable valve arrangement configured to move between a closed flow condition in which flow through the valve arrangement is prevented and an open flow condition in which liquid is allowed to drain out of the tank. The tool is connectable to the valve arrangement, such that in a connected condition of the tool and the arrangement a liquid flow path exists between the interior and the exterior of the tank. The liquid flow path is at least partly defined by a conduit in the tool. A filter, in the flow path, includes a water-permeable member configured to enable water to pass through the water-permeable member and substantially prevent passage of liquid hydrocarbon.

  • Publication number: 20180016965
Abstract: An intelligent sea water cooling system including a first fluid cooling loop coupled to a first side of a heat exchanger and to a thermal load, a second fluid cooling loop coupled to a second side of the heat exchanger, a pump for circulating fluid through the second fluid cooling loop, and a controller connected to the pump. The controller may monitor a temperature in the first fluid cooling loop and may adjust a speed of the pump to keep the temperature within a preferred operating range. If the speed of the pump is reduced to a predefined minimum pressure pump speed, the controller may start a timer t1 having a predefined duration. If the timer t1 expires and the temperature has not increased relative to when the timer t1 was started, the controller may reduce the speed of the pump below the minimum pressure pump speed.
