  • Patent number: 10890931
Abstract: A method is disclosed for implementing a scheme to configure thermal management control for a memory device resident on a memory module for a computing platform. A method is also disclosed for implementing the configured thermal management control. In a run-time environment for a computing platform a temperature is obtained from a thermal sensor monitoring the memory module. The memory module is in a given memory module with thermal sensor configuration that includes the memory device. An approximation of a temperature for the memory device is made based on thermal information associated with the given configuration of the memory module and the obtained temperature. The configured thermal management control for the memory device is implemented based on the approximated temperature. Other implementations and examples are also described in this disclosure.

  • Patent number: 10771710
Abstract: A shutter assembly comprises a base coupled to a photosensor assembly, a flexure device supported by the base, and a shutter arm rotatably coupled to the base via the flexure device. An actuation mechanism is coupled to the shutter arm via the flexure device, and is operable, upon application of an electric field, to rotate the shutter arm from a first position to a second position (or to a third position) to manage light relative to a photosensitive device of the photosensor assembly. Upon rotation of the shutter arm to the second position, the flexure device stores energy such that, upon removal of the electric field, the flexure device releases the stored energy to return the shutter arm to the first position. A keeper magnet can be provided to maintain the shutter arm in the second (actuated) position, so that the electric field can be removed while the keeper magnet maintains a magnetic force to keep the shutter arm in the second position.

  • Patent number: 9784759
Abstract: A thermally insensitive open-loop hung mass accelerometer utilizes a transverse geometry to attach the body/flexures/proof mass so that thermal expansion effects due to thermal gradients across the accelerometer or bulk temperatures changes of one flexure relative to the other cause minimal or no axial displacement of the proof mass. In this geometry, multiple flexures may be stacked to achieve the required stiffness, thus reducing manufacturing costs and any tolerancing issues, without affecting thermal sensitivity. The accelerometer is suitably designed to exhibit a radial symmetry. The accelerometer is suitably designed to use low CTE materials for at least the proof mass and body and a low thermal expansion differential Eddy current sensor head.

  • Publication number: 20170251066
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to virtualizing a network function in an ad-hoc group. The ad-hoc group comprises a plurality of mobile terminals (302, 304) that are configured for device-to-device communication, e.g., Proximity-Based Services (ProSe). The Pro Se-enabled mobile terminals (302, 304) subscribe to a Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) service with an NFV management server (322). The NFV management server (322) discovers the ad-hoc group that is suitable for NFV and informs an NFV application server (324) of the ad-hoc group.
