  • Publication number: 20190063979
Abstract: Sensing level of submerged solids. At least some of the example embodiments are methods including: inserting a level sensing apparatus through an aperture at a top of a reservoir such that a bottom end of an inner tube abuts an upper surface of the submerged solids in the reservoir; utilizing the submerged solids such that the upper surface of the submerged solids recedes and the level sensing apparatus moves downward with the receding upper surface of the submerged solids; constraining downward movement of an outer tube when the upper surface of the submerged solids reaches a predetermined low level; and as the upper surface of the submerged solids continues to recede, sensing relative movement of the outer tube and an inner tube as an indication that the upper surface of the submerged solids is below the predetermined low level.

  • Patent number: 10145433
Abstract: A disc brake (10) of the type including a pivoting lever having eccentric journals which act on a pair of tappets is disclosed. The tappets are adjusted in length by rotation, and each tappet has a tappet gear (22). A centrally located intermediate gear (24) is provided between the tappet gears to form a gear train, synchronizing the rotation of the two tappets and therefore ensuring that they remain the same length. The centrally located intermediate gear (24) includes a socket (26) for receiving a centrally located adjuster. The adjuster may be installed and removed from the disc brake through an aperture at the rear of the brake caliper, without any substantial disassembly of the brake and without de-synchronizing the tappets or even interrupting the gear train between the tappets.

  • Patent number: 10099234
Abstract: A portable, self-pressurizing sprayer or shower system includes a pressure container within a tank. Pressurized fluid, such as water from a residential water tap, is fluidly connected to the pressure container to fill and pressurize the system with the fluid. The sprayer system is then disconnected from the pressurized fluid source and transported to a remote location. A tube is then fluidly connected to the pressure container and the pressurized fluid is released through the tube to provide a portable sprayer system. A heating probe is provided that is removably secured to a second port in the pressure container. A fill kit is provided to fill the pressure container with a fluid, and then a pump is used to pressurize the system when a pressurized fluid source is unavailable.

  • Patent number: 9971830
Abstract: Based on information associated with users, a social networking system recommends one or more groups for a target user to join or to create. Characteristics of the target user, characteristics of users connected to the target user, characteristics of candidate groups in the social networking system may be used to identify groups for recommendation. The social networking system may provide questions to the target user and recommend a group to the target user based on received answers to the questions. For example, the answers to the provided question identify one or more characteristics of the target user, which are used to select a group for recommendation. Additionally, the social networking system may recommend additional users for the target user to add or invite to a group based on characteristics of the target user, the additional users, and/or the group.

  • Publication number: 20170335911
Abstract: Sealing means are disclosed for preventing the ingress of water and dirt between a brake caliper and the carrier guide pin. At the end of the guide pin facing away from the brake carrier, a retaining clip holds a sealing bead of a sealing boot at least partially within an axial bore of the guide pin. At the end of the guide pin which faces towards the carrier, a sealing boot is provided seated on a ring which in turn is attached to the caliper. The other end of the sealing boot is attached to the guide pin, in a space between the guide pin and the ring. The sealing means at either end are compact, and provide effective sealing where there is not enough space to provide known sealing means.

  • Publication number: 20160125288
Abstract: The disclosure describes the use of a neural network circuit, such as an oscillatory neural network or cellular neural network, to serve as a physically unclonable function on an integrated circuit or within an electronic system. The manufacturing process variations that impact the initial state of the neural network parameters are used to provide the unique identification for the physically unclonable function. A challenge signal to the neural network results in a response that is unique to the circuits process variations. The neural network is designed such that there are random variations among manufactured circuits, but that the specific instance variations are sufficiently deterministic with respect to circuit aging and environmental conditions such as temperature and supply voltage.
