  • Patent number: 11494622
Abstract: A method for configuring hardware for implementing a Deep Neural Network (DNN) for performing an activation function, the hardware comprising, at an activation module for performing an activation function, a programmable lookup table for storing lookup data approximating the activation function over a first range of input values to the activation module, the method comprising: providing calibration data to a representation of the hardware; monitoring an input to an activation module of the representation of the hardware so as to determine a range of input values to the activation module; generating lookup data for the lookup table representing the activation function over the determined range of input values; and loading the generated lookup data into the lookup table of the hardware, thereby configuring the activation module of the hardware for performing the activation function over the determined range of input values.

  • Publication number: 20220253319
Abstract: Hardware units and methods for performing matrix multiplication via a multi-stage pipeline wherein the storage elements associated with one or more stages of the pipeline are clock gated based on the data elements and/or portions thereof that known to have a zero value (or can be treated as having a zero value). In some cases, the storage elements may be clock gated on a per data element basis based on whether the data element has a zero value (or can be treated as having a zero value). In other cases, the storage elements may be clock gated on a partial element basis based on the bit width of the data elements. For example, if bit width of the data elements is less than a maximum bit width for the data elements then a portion of the bits related to that data element can be treated as having a zero value and a portion of the storage elements associated with that data element may not be clocked. In yet other cases the storage elements may be clock gated on both a per element and a partial element basis.

  • Patent number: 11379195
Abstract: During source code compilation to a first processor instruction set architecture (ISA), a compiler encounters a memory ordering constraint specified in the source code. The compiler generates binary emulation metadata that is usable during emulation of emitted machine code instructions of the first ISA, in order to enforce the memory ordering constraint within corresponding machine code instructions of a second ISA. An emulator utilizes this binary emulation metadata during emulation of a resulting executable image at a processor implementing the second ISA. When the emulator encounters a machine code instruction in the image that performs a memory operation, it identifies an instruction memory address corresponding to the instruction. The emulator determines whether the binary emulation metadata identifies the instruction memory address as being associated with a memory ordering constraint.

  • Publication number: 20220163275
Abstract: A method of assembling a bolt handle to a bolt assembly of a firearm includes inserting the bolt handle through a handle opening defined by a bolt body. A distal end of the bolt handle is inserted through the handle opening until the distal end extends past an outer perimeter of the bolt body. At least a portion of a bolt shroud is inserted through a first portion of an aperture defined by the bolt handle. A force is applied to the bolt shroud while the bolt handle is retracted within the handle opening of the bolt body so that the bolt shroud is positioned within a second portion of the aperture. The bolt shroud is held in connection with the bolt handle when the bolt shroud is positioned within the second portion of the aperture to secure the bolt handle to the bolt body.

  • Publication number: 20220164394
Abstract: Techniques allow a computer to responsively search for graph shapes similar to a user-selected graph shape much faster. Data can be pre-processed and stored as vectors, along with an index. The index can be used to find similar vectors that represent graph shapes similar to a user-selected shape in a computationally efficient manner. Vectors of multiple resolutions can be used to anticipate different sizes of a graph that a user can select, and comparisons can be repeated and refined. When a satisfactorily small number of candidate vectors are determined, more computationally intensive distance calculations can be performed on data reconstructed from the vectors.
