Publication number: 20190095410Abstract: A system and method for concurrent scanning of individual documents includes an intelligent controller having a processor and memory and a scanner that generates an electronic image from a group of hard copy receipts disposed on its platen, face down in any orientation such that there is a spacing between them. The platen receives a plurality separated paper receipts on its surface and the controller generates a contiguous area mask corresponding to a perimeter of each of the receipts. The controller then generates a unique image file corresponding to a surface image of each of the receipts in accordance with this mask. Image files for the receipts are placed through optical character recognition and the resulting character data is used to orient each corresponding receipt image. Character information is also used to generate expense reports.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 22, 2017Publication date: March 28, 2019Inventors: Christopher NGUYEN, Jia ZHANG, William SU

Publication number: 20190058804Abstract: A system and method for scanning two or more documents into a single scan file includes a multifunction peripheral having an intelligent controller including a processor and associated memory. A scanner of the multifunction peripheral includes first and second document feed modes. A user interface includes a display, such as a touchscreen display. A first sensor detects a presence of a first tangible document in the first feed mode. A second sensor detects a second document in the second feed mode. The controller enables the first feed mode to complete a first scan operation and generates a digital image file comprising images of the first document. The controller generates a prompt on the display for a selection of a continued scan operation. If selected, the second feed mode completes a second scan operation on the second document and generates the digital image file to include images of the second document.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 18, 2017Publication date: February 21, 2019Inventors: Jia ZHANG, William SU, Christopher NGUYEN

Publication number: 20180077036Abstract: A stand-alone data collector is configured to obtain configuration data that includes IP addresses to be monitored when the data collector is started. The data collector performs simple network management protocol (SNMP) walks of the management information bases (MIBs) of networked document processing devices associated with the monitored IP addresses to obtain meter data associated with usage of the networked document processing devices. The data collector aggregates the meter data and forwards the aggregated meter data to a network server and other recipients designated in the configuration data. The data collector can be configured to discover networked document processing devices associated with the monitored IP addresses. The data collector can include a chassis that houses a Raspberry Pi-based circuit board that performs the data collection operations.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 10, 2017Publication date: March 15, 2018Inventors: Dehua ZHAO, Christopher NGUYEN, Michael YEUNG

Patent number: 9428945Abstract: A device to limit an opening of a window having a sash selectively movable between a window closed position in which the sash is received in a window frame, and a window open position in which the sash is pivoted outwardly relative to the window frame. The device includes a sash bracket, a limiting arm assembly with an engagement structure, and a securing structure with a selectively operable release mechanism. The securing structure receives the engagement structure of the limiting arm assembly so that the limiting arm inhibits pivoting of the sash toward the window open position beyond a distance of travel defined by a length of the limiting arm, and the engagement structure is releasable from the securing structure by operating the release mechanism so that the sash can be further pivoted toward the window open position beyond the distance of travel.Type: GrantFiled: July 18, 2014Date of Patent: August 30, 2016Assignee: Truth Hardware CorporationInventors: Nghi Christopher Nguyen, Derek Ronald Gramstad, Scot J. Publication number: 20160050210Abstract: Various of the disclosed embodiments concern methods and systems for maintaining privacy in a machine directed workflow for the purpose of creating a set of authorized users. According to one embodiment, the system maintains privacy by dividing information associated with a user into three privacy tiers. First privacy tier is configured to authorize access to all users. Second and third privacy tiers are configured to limit access to a subset of users. Once the system matches the users and receives authorization from the users, the system creates a set of authorized users, which can freely send messages to each other, and share first, second and third privacy tiers of information with each other.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 13, 2015Publication date: February 18, 2016Inventors: Christopher NGUYEN, Tracy TRAN

Patent number: 9181746Abstract: A locking mechanism for use with a window having a hinge coupling a sash to a frame includes a keeper and a locking lug. The keeper includes a generally planar base plate that is abutable to a surface of either the sash or the frame and two wings extending upwardly from the base, each of the wings having an upwardly and inwardly extending portion extending from the base plate and an inwardly extending portion extending inwardly substantially parallel to the base plate from the upwardly and inwardly extending portion. The two inwardly extending portions define a gap therebetween. The planar base further includes at least one self locating leg extending outward and coplanar with the base. The self locating leg adapted to abut a portion of the sash or the frame. Thus, the keeper is positionable without a fixture.Type: GrantFiled: January 17, 2014Date of Patent: November 10, 2015Assignee: Truth Hardware CorporationInventors: Nghi Christopher Nguyen, Michael Neff, Lee Bauman, Loren Rysavy, Derek Ronald Gramstad, Gregory J.
