  • Publication number: 20160281536
Abstract: A squeeze film damper bearing assembly includes a bearing and a squirrel cage radially outward of and supporting the bearing. The squirrel cage includes a first piston ring groove, a second piston ring groove, and a first pocket connected to the first piston ring groove. The squeeze film damper bearing assembly also includes a first piston ring configured to fit into the first piston ring groove. The first piston ring includes a first end circumferentially spaced apart from a second end and an ear configured to fit into the first pocket to prevent the first piston ring from rotating in the first piston ring groove. The squeeze film damper bearing assembly also includes a second piston ring configured to fit into the second piston ring groove and a stationary housing radially outward of the squirrel cage.

  • Publication number: 20150292415
Abstract: A spring assembly has a spring end for engagement with a component to bias the component in a first direction. The spring end is connected to a plurality of coils, which have an inner peripheral surface, and are mounted about a pivot pin. A damper is positioned between an outer peripheral surface on the pivot pin and the inner peripheral surface of the spring coils. The damper is engaged by the spring coils, if the spring end is driven in a direction opposed to the first direction. A one-way drive assembly and a gas turbine engine are also disclosed.
