Abstract: A host computer includes a computing box and a base. The computing box includes a box connector and outputs two different kinds of video signals via the box connector. The base includes a first interface, a second interface, and a base connector connected to the box connector. The first interface receives one of the two different kinds of video signals, and the second interface receives the other one of the two different kinds of video signals. The first interface outputs the one of the two different kinds of video signals to a display device, and the second interface outputs the other one of the two different kinds of video signals to another display device.

Abstract: A connector, configured to extend a plurality of interfaces, includes a housing and a plurality of pins extending out of the housing. The housing is designed to accommodate a plurality of contacts spaced apart in sequentially numbered contact locations including HDMI contact locations designated for a HDMI port, configured to couple to at least one HDMI interface via HDMI pins of the plurality of pins; USB contact locations designated for a USB port; a power contact location designated for a power port; and a detection contact location designated for a detection port, configured to detect the types and quantities of the plurality of interfaces via a detection pin. The dummy speaker may only have a driving unit and no crossover logic. The main player may have a PC architecture and process all signals digitally for outputting signals tailored for the display device and the individual driving units of the dummy speaker. The integrated system may also provide dynamic signal adjustments based on the surrounding environment. The main player may include a storage device and can process media content stored therein to produce supplemental information to provide an optimal audiovisual experience. This supplemental information can be shared among users over a network connection.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a novel method for preparing an arylnaphthalene lignan compound. In synthesis of arylnaphthalene lignan compounds and derivatives according to the present disclosure, a naphthalene backbone may be constructed first and an aryl group may be introduced at the final stage. Through this, various kinds of derivatives that could not be prepared from the existing methods can be synthesized effectively. Further, the synthesis method according to the present disclosure is appropriate for large-scale production.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method for discriminating sitosterolemia by simultaneously measuring relative concentrations of phytosterol and cholesterol metabolism-related compounds in a blood spot on the paper. According to the present disclosure, sitosterolemia may be quickly discriminated with high accuracy by simple sample collecting using a trace amount of blood spot stained on a paper, and it may be used for newborn screening and preschool children, particularly patients with xanthoma.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and composition for treating acne using lignan compounds represented by Formula 1. More particularly, the invention relates to an antibacterial composition against acne-causing bacteria, containing lignan compounds represented by Formula 1, as well as a method for treating acne using the same. The lignan compounds represented by Formula 1 are excellent not only in the antibacterial activity of inhibiting the growth of acne-causing bacteria, but also in thermal stability. Accordingly, the lignan compounds may be useful as antibacterial agents against the acne-causing bacteria, and acne treatment agents.
