  • Publication number: 20070108923
Abstract: A universal driving apparatus of a computer system inputs two control signals of two different duty cycles through a speed control pin of a receptacle for connecting fans with the electricity supplied continuously. The differentiation percentage of the two speeds is compared with a threshold to identify the fan types. Therefore the computer system is capable of driving the identified fan correctly according to the result of the fan-type identification.

  • Patent number: 7210944
Abstract: A connector for electrically connecting to a mating connector has a circuit board, a cable, and a support member. The circuit board has a front portion, a mid portion, and a rear portion. The front portion has a plurality of conductive pads for electrically contacting electrical portions of the mating connector. The rear portion has a plurality of soldering pads. The cable has a plurality of wires. The wires are soldered onto the soldering pads. The mid portion and the rear portion of the circuit board are embedded into the support member via a manner of insert-molding. As a result, the circuit board will not loosen from the support member, and the connection between the soldering pads of the circuit board and the wires of the cable is reliable.

  • Publication number: 20070093114
Abstract: A resilient latching device is mounted on an electrical connector for latching onto a mating connector. The resilient latching device has a mounting portion, a pressing portion, and a latching portion. The mounting portion is fixed on a top face of an insulative housing of the electrical connector. The pressing portion defines a fixing end and a free end at a rear end and a front end thereof, respectively. The fixing end is integrally connected to the mounting portion. The pressing portion forms a bulgy shape corresponding to the top face of the insulative housing. The latching portion is integrally connected to the free end of the pressing portion and extends forward. As a result, the electrical connector can be smoothly separated from the mating connector, and deformation of the latching portion and wear and tear of the insulative housing of the mating connector are avoided.

  • Patent number: 7163408
Abstract: A connector has a first outer casing, a second outer casing, and a cable module. The first outer casing has a first front sectional portion. The second outer casing has a second front sectional portion. The cable module includes a printed circuit board, a cable, and an insulating member. The printed circuit board has a plurality of electric pads disposed at a front thereof. The cable has a front electrically connected to a rear of the printed circuit board. The insulating member retains the front of the cable and the rear of the printed circuit board. The printed circuit board is received between the first front sectional portion and the second front sectional portion. The front of the printed circuit board extends out of the first front sectional portion and the second front sectional portion. As such, the number of components of the connector of the present invention is reduced.

  • Patent number: 6469610
Abstract: A switch assembly comprises a switch knob, a contact control member, a resilient contact piece and a bimetal alloy leaf for automatically cutting off power supply when current overload occurs. The switch knob is depressed to drive a protuberance to directly press or release the contact control member and the resilient contact piece to connect or cut off the power supply in normal operation. When current overload occurs, the bimetal alloy leaf deformed to push a moveable rod of the contact control member to release the resilient contact piece for cutting off the power supply. The switch assembly also includes a resilient member for restoring the contact control member to a normal off state after cutting off the power supply.

  • Patent number: 6323450
Abstract: A switch assembly, an ON/OFF control mechanism for power supply, mainly comprises a switch knob, a contact control member, and a resilient contact piece, wherein the switch knob is to be depressed to drive a protuberance to directly oppress or release the contact control member so as to in turn oppress or release the resilient contact piece for effecting or cutting off a power supply. By using a simple structure like this, easy assembling, low cost, simplification of interactive process, and low breakdown ratio are made possible.

  • Patent number: 6275133
Abstract: A switch structure comprises a control element, which comprises an alloy piece and a swinging device. The swinging device has an actuating element used to actuate the swinging device when the actuating element is pushed. When the alloy piece is overheated due to overloading of current, it will deform toward the actuating element so as to eject the actuating element, which causes the swing device to swing outwards and is released from the supporting of the stopper in the switch body. Then, the swing device moves towards the original closing position, and the elastic contacting piece is released from the pressing of the swing device to eject upwards. Two joints connected in an electric loop are tripped. The object of rapid response, cutting power source, and safety is therefore achieved.

  • Patent number: 6252489
Abstract: A switch structure which includes an alloy piece, a contact control device, and a push device is disclosed. The contact control device includes an elastic part and connects to an end part so that the end part may reciprocally move with respect to the contact control device in a horizontal direction. The end part normally contacts with the upper side of the stopper placed in the switch body and is used to push the push device towards the end part when the alloy piece is overheated and strain is generated due to the current flowing through the alloy piece. The end part then elastically contracts and escapes from the stopper to fall down so that another end of the contact control device projects upwards and does not press the elastic contact plate. Therefore, the elastic contact plate may escape from the two contact points to cut off the power source rapidly by the elastic force to achieve the purpose of safety.
