    Abstract: A cable compression die assembly is used in connection with a compression tool for compressing a stranded cable prior to crimping. Upper and lower compression dies each have a semicircular groove to compress the cable. A plurality of extending blocks guides each die into sliding engagement. The stranded cable will be compressed between the upper and lower compression dies to a reduced cable radius. Compressing generally reduces or eliminates air spaces between the stranded cable wire strands. A subsequent crimp connection forms a nearly monolithic structure to maximize current flow between two crimp connected compressed stranded cables.

The gland nut includes a second liquid-proof coating that includes a forward sealing rim. A grounding ring is positioned between the gland nut and the fitting body and contacts the fitting body. Upon axial movement of the gland nut, the grounding ring engages the rearward sealing rim of the first liquid-proof coating on the fitting body and the forward sealing rim of the second liquid-proof coating on the gland nut to form a sealed relationship therewith.

    Abstract: A low profile cable tie includes a strap having a tail at one end and a locking head at the other end. The locking head has passage for receipt of the tail therethrough. The strap includes a planar surface between the tail and the locking head having a plurality of notches therealong. The locking head includes a base portion and a head portion flexibly connected to the base portion with the passageway formed therebetween. The head portion includes a plurality of locking teeth extending into the passageway for engagement with the notches of the strap body. The notches engage a number of teeth less than all of the locking teeth upon insertion of the strap into the passageway. The head is flexibly pivotable so that more than the number of locking teeth engage the notches upon attempt to withdraw the strap from the head.

    Abstract: An improved compression connector for connecting two electrical conductors and methods of using the same are disclosed. The compression connector is made of a single partially bifurcated connector body and then crimped. A partially bifurcated c-tap portion of the connector body allows for a crimping act on each side of the compression connector slot, resulting in a more reliable compression connection. The compression connector that results is much more resistant to failure compared to known C-shaped compression connectors.

    Abstract: An electrical floor box assembly and cover are provided. The floor box cover includes an access door that is designed to be repositioned. The access door is repositioned by lifting, sliding, or moving back and securing into one of at least two closed (flat) positions. When the access door is secured in a closed “not in service” position, the access door is watertight with a single gasket or seal. A second gasket or seal is provided below the cover for further watertightness. When the access door is secured in a closed “in service” position, one or more apertures for cords are revealed, thereby permitting cords plugged into an outlet within the floor box assembly to protrude through the apertures.

    Abstract: A method for installing a conduit in a liquid-tight fitting includes inserting a coated gland nut configured for insertion onto a conduit, wherein the gland nut includes an outer surface and internal threads. A grounding ring is placed onto external threads of a tubular fitting body having a coated intermediate portion, such that an inner surface of the grounding ring is conductively coupled to the external threads of the fitting body. The outer surface of the grounding ring includes a ground wire engaging portion projecting therefrom. The internal threads of the gland nut are loosely coupled to the external threads of the fitting body. The grounding ring is rotated to a desired position relative to the fitting body. The gland nut is tightened to the fitting body, such that the coated outer surface of the gland nut and the coated intermediate portion of the fitting body compressingly engage the grounding ring therebetween.
