Abstract: An electrical box includes one or more sides joined to form a front opening to receive an electrical device. The electrical box also includes a flange extending laterally from the one or more sides. The flange includes a blade edge configured to have an initial engagement with a surface of a wallboard when the electrical box is installed in an opening of the wallboard. When the electrical box is installed in the opening of the wallboard, the blade edge forms a vapor-tight barrier between the electrical box and the surface of the wallboard.

Abstract: An improved electrical box is disclosed that incorporates a bracket and device cover as a single combined unit. The combined unit is simpler to manufacture and to install as opposed to three separate pieces.

Abstract: An electrical box may include a panel that is coupled to a top side of the electrical box. The panel may include a wall on one side of the panel, the wall surrounding a well, in the first panel, into a space in the electrical box. The panel may also include a cap to be placed over the wall and the well. The cap and the well may be configured to form a first bend and a second bend on a cable that extends from outside of the electrical box to an inside space of the electrical box. The first bend may include a locally lowest point on cable portions that are outside of an area under the cap.

Abstract: The present invention provides a cable and box support plate which is a rectangular, flat plate with integral cable/conduit support member formed therewith. The cable/conduit support members are made from the same material as the remaining plate and formed by punching or stamping out the support members therein.

Abstract: An integrally formed spacer may include an upper body having a flat surface. The upper body may include a fastening tongue perpendicular to the flat surface and dimensioned to fit into a first fastening hole in a wall of an electrical box. In addition, the integrally formed spacer may include a lower body with at least one leg having a notch to receive the wall of the electrical box via a second fastening hole in the wall. Further, the integrally formed spacer may include a neck portion having two ends in a lengthwise direction of the integrally formed spacer, one end of the neck portion connected to the upper body and another end connected to the lower body.

Abstract: A while-in use weatherproof cover for an electrical box that includes a faceplate, a base plate and a perimetrical side wall. The base plate has an opening adapted to receive an electrical device and one or more apertures for securing the cover to the device and/or electrical box. The perimeter side wall is flexible and extends from the face plate to the base plate so that the faceplate, the base plate and the side wall define an interior. The faceplate has an opening fitted with a door that is operated by compressing the side wall. The door is movable between an open position, which allows access to the interior, and a closed position, which restricts access to the interior.

The upper portion may include first and second rectangular shaped members, a first projection extending from the first and second members, and a first central opening located between the first and second members. The lower portion may include third and fourth rectangular shaped members, a second projection extending from the third and fourth members, and a second central opening located between the third and fourth members. The screw may extend from the upper portion through the first and second central openings. The nut may be integrally connected to the lower portion and includes threads to receive corresponding threads from the screw. Lower surfaces of the first and second members and upper surfaces of the third and fourth members define an opening located adjacent the first and second projections in which a component to be clamped is placed.

Abstract: The wall plate bracket is for a high voltage outlet, and includes a wall plate having front and rear surfaces. The wall plate has an interior opening. A support housing has an inner surface and an interior region bounded by the inner surface. The support housing is connected to the rear surface such that the interior opening provides access to the interior region. The support housing is configured for support of the high voltage outlet within the interior region. A clamp is connected to the wall plate for securing the wall plate to a wall structure. The rear surface of the wall plate may have a rib to limit the clearance between the support housing and rear surface. Alternatively, the clearance may be limited by a recess in the rear surface in which a mounting tab of the support housing is located.

Abstract: A weatherproof electrical box may include a housing having a first enclosure volume and an opening to the first enclosure volume. A cover may be connected with the housing to cover the opening. A cable configuration element may extend from the cover and into the first enclosure volume. The cable configuration element may retain a cable connected with a device mounted in the housing in a downwardly extending surface configuration when the cover covers the opening.

An attachment structure is disposed in the housing for securing the first receptacle to the outlet box. The perimeter wall includes a first portion extending from the bottom wall and a second portion extending at an oblique angle from the first portion. The second wall portion includes an opening for supporting a second receptacle. The assembly includes a cover movable between open and closed positions and between retracted and un-retracted positions.

Abstract: A tool for effecting attachment of an electrical terminal terminated on a wire with respect to a mating electrical contact is provided including an elongate tubular body having a first opened end, a second opened end and a continuous slot from the first to the second opened end. The continuous slot defines a pair of inwardly deflectable opposed sidewalls, wherein the wire may be loosely received between the opposed sidewalls. A first recessed stop toward the first opened end of the tubular body is adapted to seat at least the terminal at the first opened end. The opposed sidewalls are inwardly deflectable so as to grip the wire to effect attachment to the mating electrical contact.

Abstract: A face plate assembly for an electrical outlet box having an open side and an electrical fixture contained therein generally includes a face plate member and an adapter plate. The adapter plate is defined by an outer periphery and has an opening therein sized and shaped to receive a portion of the electrical fixture therein. The adaptor plate further includes a projection extending from a back face thereof, which has a size adapted to be received in an aperture of the electrical fixture for aligning the adapter plate thereto. The face plate member has an opening having an inner periphery edge surface smaller than the outer periphery of the adapter plate so that the face plate member is adapted to sandwich the adapter plate against the electrical fixture when mounted to the outlet box, wherein the adapter plate is not attached to the face plate member or the electrical fixture.

Abstract: An electrical box assembly including a box having a base wall perimetrically bounded by a sidewall extending therefrom forming a housing adapted to receive an electrical component. The sidewall having an upper portion and a flange extending outwardly in a transverse direction from the upper portion. An electrical component attachment point is disposed adjacent the sidewall upper portion and adapted for securing an electrical component to the box. The flange is perimetrically bounded by a collar extending outwardly therefrom. A securement device disposed on the box for securing the box to a support structure is provided. A frame is further provided which is in telescopic engagement with the collar and movable relative thereto. The frame has an abutment surface for abutting against a facing surface. An adjustment device is provided for moving the frame relative to the box and urges the abutment surface against the facing surface.
