  • Patent number: 10121013
Abstract: Example embodiments for descrambling and scrambling a memory channel include executing a training mode for the memory device to discover XOR vectors used by the host system to scramble data. The training mode inputs all zero training data to a scrambling algorithm for all memory locations of the memory device to generate scrambled training data that is transmitted over the memory channel to the memory device. The scrambled training data are equal to the XOR vectors corresponding to those memory locations. The scrambled training data is received over the memory channel by the memory device and stored as the XOR vectors for each corresponding memory location. During a functional mode, the scrambled data is received over the memory channel for a specified memory location and the XOR vector stored for the specified memory location is used to descramble the scrambled data prior to writing to the specified memory location.

  • Publication number: 20180306446
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a coupling assembly for a turbomachine. The coupling assembly includes a liner and a sleeve at least partially positioned circumferentially around the liner. A frame is positioned between the liner and the sleeve. The frame includes a first side wall, a second side wall, and a base wall extending from the first side wall to the second side wall. A block is positioned between the liner and the sleeve and is movable relative to the frame to permit the block to move toward and away from the base wall. Moving the block away from the base wall causes the block to exert an inward force on the liner and the base wall to exert an outward force on the sleeve.

  • Publication number: 20180206347
Abstract: A polymer film is applied onto a surface of a laminated printed circuit board subassembly having vias. Holes are created in the polymer film to access the vias while the polymer film remains covering adjacent areas. The polymer film with holes allows placement of hole-fill paste in the vias while preventing unwanted hole-fill paste placement or migration to adjacent areas. After filling the vias with hole-fill paste, the hole-fill paste is preferably at least partially hardened or cured, and the polymer film is preferably removed, facilitating further assembly of a printed circuit board without unwanted hole-fill paste in other areas which could be difficult to remove, The invention includes improved processes for fabricating printed circuit boards, and is particularly useful for irregular circuit boards and rigid flex circuit boards. The invention also includes covered laminated printed circuit board subassemblies, covered with a removable polymer film.

  • Publication number: 20180202664
Abstract: A tool for repairing an out-of-round component such as a combustor body is disclosed. The tool includes a base including a first arcuate member; a second arcuate member; and a linear actuator coupling the second arcuate member to the base. The linear actuator moves the second arcuate member between a retracted position out of engagement with the out-of-round component and an extended position in which the first arcuate member and the second arcuate member engage an interior surface of the out-of-round component in an opposing relationship to force the out-of-round component into a more round state compared to an initial state of the out-of-round component. A related method is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 10025747
Abstract: A protocol that enables communication between a host and an Input/Output (I/O) channel storage device, such as a Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM) channel Dual In-Line Memory Module (DIMM) form-factor Solid State Drive (SSD), without the need to know or reverse engineer the encoding applied by the host. The control/status data are written to the storage device by sending a protocol training sequence of known values and storing the associated command/status data in the storage device in the same encoding format as that received from the host. These stored values are used at run time to execute encoded commands received from the host and to report status data to the host in the host-recognizable manner. A memory bank-based buffered configuration stores user data also in the as-received condition to preserve the host-specific encoding. This facilitates exchange of user data between the host memory controller and the storage device over the DRAM channel.

  • Publication number: 20180085869
Abstract: A tool kit for decoupling a telescoping tube from a first liner of a gas turbine engine is disclosed. The tool kit includes a base plate coupled to a combustor casing. A post extends outward from the base plate into a combustion chamber defined by the liner. A plunger slidably mounts to the post and is slidable between an extended position and a retracted position. A lever arm pivotably couples to the post and the plunger. Pivoting the lever arm in a first direction slides the plunger to the extended position to decouple the telescoping tube from the liner. A retaining clip couples to the combustor casing and extends into an annular plenum at least partially defined between the liner and the combustor casing. The retaining clip defines a notch that receives the telescoping tube after the plunger assembly decouples the telescoping tube from the liner.
