  • Publication number: 20140362195
Abstract: One or more embodiments of techniques or systems for 3-dimensional (3-D) navigation are provided herein. A heads-up display (HUD) component can project, render, display, or present graphic elements on focal planes around an environment surrounding a vehicle. The HUD component can cause these graphic elements to appear volumetric or 3-D by moving or adjusting a distance between a focal plane and the vehicle. Objects within the environment may be tracked, identified, and corresponding graphic elements may be projected on, near, or around respective objects. For example, the HUD component may project graphic elements or pointers on pedestrians such that it may alert the driver or operator of the vehicle of their presence. These pointers may stay ‘stuck’ on the pedestrian as he or she is walking within the environment. Metadata associated with objects may be presented, such as address information, ratings, telephone numbers, logos, etc.

  • Patent number: 8536923
Abstract: A system and method for reducing gain error and distortion in an operational amplifier due to errors in the second or integrator stage. A correction circuit may replicate an error current and insert the current into the signal stream to preempt the induction of an error at the amplifier's input. A capacitor may sample the error voltage at the input of the integrator stage of the amplifier and generate a replica of the error current in the integration capacitor to feed it into the input of the integrator stage. This eliminates any nonlinearity errors created by error currents in the compensation or integration capacitor at the second or integrator stage of the two-stage amplifier. Feeding the error current to the integrator stage may be facilitated with a unity gain buffer and a current mirror.

  • Patent number: 7370404
Abstract: A spin valve sensor in a read head has a spacer layer which is located between a self-pinned AP pinned layer structure and a free layer structure. The free layer structure is longitudinally stabilized by first and second hard bias layers which abut first and second side surfaces of the spin valve sensor. The AP pinned layer structure has an antiparallel coupling layer (APC) which is located between first and second AP pinned layers (AP1) and (AP2). The invention employs a resetting process for setting of the magnetic moments of the AP pinned layers by applying a field at an acute angle to the head surface in a plane parallel to the major planes of the layers of the sensor. The resetting process sets a proper polarity of each AP pinned layer, which polarity conforms to processing circuitry employed with the spin valve sensor.

  • Publication number: 20070247284
Abstract: A method and apparatus for the automatic determination of cable connections on a patch panel employs a reduced number of RFID antennas. A plurality of RFID antennas, each positioned so as to be in close proximity to each of a set of device ports of a patch panel, each comprises a series of resonators that correspond to the individual device ports (i.e., cable connector locations) in the set. The resonators may comprise in-line circuitry within the antennas, or other means for producing given impedance values at the cable connector locations. In operation, the power supplied to a given antenna is varied (e.g., in a step-wise fashion), so that the antenna field may be advantageously shaped to include a given subset of the device ports in the set and to exclude the others, thereby allowing the system to read individual RFID tags (connected to particular device ports) selectively.
