  • Patent number: 7139097
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and system for testing the output of a digital imaging system. The method comprises the steps of sending a test job to a test digital imaging system and generating test information. The test information suitably comprises a plurality of computed values, each computed value corresponding to a portion of the test job. The test information is then compared with control information produced by sending the test job to a control digital imaging system. In addition, the invention provides a digital imaging device designed to accept test job and capable of generating the test information upon initiation of testing procedures.

  • Publication number: 20060179147
Abstract: A system for connection failover using redirection includes a primary server comprising a primary connection failover driver (CFD), a shadow server comprising a shadow CFD, and a client. The primary and shadow servers and the client are coupled via a network. The primary server and the client are configured to cooperate to establish a network connection. The primary CFD is configured to redirect a first message packet, targeted for transmission to the client over the network connection, to the shadow server. The shadow CFD is configured to copy contents of the first message packet into a log, and forward the first message packet to the client after the contents have been copied.

  • Publication number: 20050270107
Abstract: A low distortion amplifier. The novel amplifier includes a first transistor Q1 having first and second output terminals and an input terminal adapted to receive an input signal, and a second transistor Q2 having first and second output terminals and an input terminal adapted to receive a signal from the first output terminal of Q1, wherein the second output terminal of Q1 is connected to the second output terminal of Q2 in order to eliminate a nonlinear current component in Q2. In an illustrative embodiment, the amplifier also includes a cascode Darlington pair Q3, Q4 for holding the second output terminals of Q1 and Q2 at a desired voltage to further reduce distortion and to maintain a wide bandwidth.

  • Patent number: 6866751
Abstract: A spin valve sensor in a read head has a spacer layer which is located between a self-pinned AP pinned layer structure and a free layer structure. The free layer structure is longitudinally stabilized by first and second hard bias layers which abut first and second side surfaces of the spin valve sensor. The AP pinned layer structure has an antiparallel coupling layer (APC) which is located between first and second AP pinned layers (AP1) and (AP2). The invention employs a preferential setting of the magnetic moments of the AP pinned layers by applying a field at an acute angle to the head surface in a plane parallel to the major planes of the layers of the sensor. The preferential setting sets a proper polarity of each AP pinned layer, which polarity conforms to processing circuitry employed with the spin valve sensor.

  • Publication number: 20040133733
Abstract: Analyzing data on a network. A method of analyzing data on a network is disclosed. The method includes capturing network traffic on the network during a period of time where the network traffic is captured as raw data into data blocks. The data blocks are streamed to a mass storage. The data blocks are organized into logical blocks on the mass storage. A set of data points are compiled. The data points are useful for defining information about the logical blocks. The data points include an offset defining a number of bytes into the captured data and datum headers including the number of frames into a logical block, number of bytes contained in the logical block and clock ticks since the initiation of capturing.

  • Patent number: 6631157
Abstract: A multi-clock matched filter for receiving signals with multipath. The signals may be modulated with a spread-spectrum spreading sequence, or other analog or digital signal. A number of signal registers store digital samples of the received signal. The gating of digital samples into each of the signal registers is controlled by a separate clock timing. The timing sequence may be derived from a common clock. A multiplexer sequentially selects each of the signal registers, and passes the respective content of each signal register to a matched filter. A number of delay-locked-loop circuits track each of the multipath signals, and generate the timing sequence for gating signal registers.

  • Publication number: 20030170361
Abstract: An adsorbent removes certain undesirable components from beverages, such as beer, and has a low beverage soluble iron (BSI) content. These undesirable components include contaminants which cause chill haze. The adsorbent includes two components, a silica component and a polyphosphate sequestering agent component, such as sodium tripolyphosphate (STPP). The process for using the adsorbent involves first contacting a beverage with an adsorbent to adsorb at least a portion of the undesirable components then separating the adsorbent from the beverage. The adsorbent may be formed by one of two methods or a combination of both. The first method involves adding the polyphosphate sequestering agent to a reactant, such as a sodium or potassium silicate solution, prior to or during the gelation stage. A second method involves adding the polyphosphate sequestering agent to the water wash after a hydrogel is formed.

  • Patent number: 6349110
Abstract: A subsystem and method for combining a spread-spectrum signal arriving from a plurality of paths. A header-matched filter detects each match of a header-chip-sequence signal with a first impulse response and, in response to the detection, outputs a header-detection signal having a header amplitude and a respective chip location. A data-matched filter detects, at the respective chip location of each header-detection signal, a respective data-chip-sequence signal and outputs a data-detection signal having a data amplitude. A combiner multiplies the header amplitude of each header-detection signal and the data amplitude of the respective data symbol to generate a plurality of weighted elements for each data symbol. The combiner then adds the plurality of weighted elements for each data symbol as a sum signal of the respective data symbol.

  • Patent number: 6184834
Abstract: An electronic price label which is suitable for use in both small EPLs having lengths of about 1.5 to 2 inches and large size EPLs having lengths of about 3 to 4 inches. The antenna includes a folded planar conductor including a generally planar radiator portion coupled to a antenna port on a printed circuit board, a generally planar ground plane portion coupled to a ground on the printed circuit board having a width and oriented generally parallel to the radiator portion, and a dielectric layer between the radiator portion and the ground plane portion. The width of the ground plane portion is larger than the width of the radiator portion by a distance sufficient to produce an electric field which is linearly polarized in the width direction, thereby eliminating a need for shielding.
