  • Patent number: 9282374
Abstract: A method for tagging subcontent includes creating a first begin tag for a program to be delivered over a network, wherein the first begin tag corresponds to a first video segment of the program. A first video frame is identified for the first video segment, the first video frame representing content of the first video segment, the first video frame is displayable as a first thumbnail. A second begin tag is created for the program, the second begin tag corresponds to a second video segment of the program. A second video frame is identified for the second video segment, the second video frame representing content of the second video segment, the second video frame is displayable as a second thumbnail. The first begin tag is distinct from the second begin tag, the first video frame is distinct from the second video frame, and the first video segment is distinct from the second video segment.

  • Patent number: 9253430
Abstract: Systems and methods to allow a user to control viewed content. A particular method includes receiving at least one selected video stream of multiple video streams associated with a particular event. The method includes forming an output stream from the at least one selected video stream based on a user modifiable template. The method also includes sending the output stream to a display device for playback as indicated by the user modifiable template. The user modifiable template indicates a display region location where the at least one selected video stream is to be displayed.

  • Patent number: 9247228
Abstract: A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a set top box having a controller to receive two-dimensional image content comprising a plurality of images, identify an object in a first image of the plurality of images, identify the object in a second image of the plurality of images, determine a perspective angle difference between the first and second images, generate a third image using the first and second images when the perspective angle difference satisfies a three-dimensional angle threshold, generate three-dimensional image content using the first image and the third image, and provide the three-dimensional image content to a display device operably coupled with the set top box. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9218106
Abstract: A particular system includes a processor and memory storing instructions that are executable by the processor to cause the processor to perform operations. The operations include sending a notification indicator to a first device in response to identifying content of interest associated with a first source. The operations also include, in response to user input responsive to the notification indicator, sending a menu display to the first device. The menu display includes a first user selectable option to view a submenu. The submenu includes an option to selectively enable display of an alert associated with the first source. The alert is displayable on the first device in conjunction with display of a first program.

  • Patent number: 9148630
Abstract: A method includes receiving input data from user devices having access to media content of a media stream that is responsive to at least a subset of the input data. The input data may correspond to one or more user inputs received from the user devices via an interactive session associated with the media content. The method further includes selecting a particular subset of the input data based at least in part on one or more inputs received from a device. The one or more inputs may be responsive to selection of one or more input controls of a moderator control graphical user interface. The method further includes sending an adapted media stream to the user devices. The adapted media stream may include the media content and content corresponding to the particular subset of the input data.

  • Patent number: 9094720
Abstract: A scheduled broadcast time is retrieved for a program that is to be delivered in advance of the scheduled broadcast time, wherein the scheduled broadcast time is associated with a program content identifier for the program. Prior to the scheduled broadcast time, a pre-cast channel is selected on a network by selecting a dedicated pre-cast channel. Prior to the scheduled broadcast time, a signal is sent for placing a viewer program storage device into a pre-cast mode, such that viewing of the pre-cast channel is disabled. Prior to the scheduled broadcast time, the program is delivered to the viewer program storage device over the pre-cast channel, wherein the delivered program is associated with the program content identifier and a time stamp for disabling playback of the delivered program until arrival of the scheduled broadcast time.
