  • Publication number: 20220376853
Abstract: A digital radio OFDM modulator and demodulator provide an efficient mode and a backwards-compatible mode to work with IEEE 802.15.4g or a similar standard. In backwards-compatible mode, they use a single method for error encoding physical header and payload transmit data, and a single method for detecting and correcting errors in physical header and payload receive data. In efficient mode, they use two different methods. The payload is BCH-LDPC encoded. They may also use mapping constellations that are not available in IEEE 802.15.4g, including 64-QAM, 256-QAM, and APSK. To ensure that physical header data can be received more robustly than payload data, they use frequency diversity of the physical header data, and selection maximal ratio combining (SMRC) in the demodulator to reduce the bit error rate (BER) at a low cost.

  • Publication number: 20220272213
Abstract: A system and method for maintenance and supplying of a fleet of multifunction peripheral devices includes two or more networked devices including a decision engine. Devices discover one another and one device is designated as a server. The server creates a virtual lobby accessible by other devices and its decision engine is enabled. The server invites other devices into its virtual lobby, and these devices join the lobby in response. Devices provide their device state information to the lobby. The enabled decision engine generates recommendations for consumable replenishment, device servicing or device configuration, relaying the recommendations to a system administrator's tablet or smartphone. The administrator may accept, reject, modify or implement received suggestions. Consumable supplies or servicing recommendations can be done automatically if enabled. Administrator actions are fed back to the server for machine learning to improve future suggestions.

  • Publication number: 20220271966
Abstract: A system and method for managing fleets of network MFPs uses a portable data device such as a networked smartphone to discover and query devices over one or more network subnets. The smartphone sends out a multicast device discovery petition to all network devices and processes responses received asynchronously in parallel. A sequence of smaller multicasts can be used so as not to overwhelm available device resources. Once all devices has responded, all responses are checked sequentially. Devices identified as multifunction peripherals are sent a second petition seeking device state information. Received device state information is stored in a management database.

  • Patent number: 11394356
Abstract: A system configured to perform audio limiting using block-based processing to reduce acoustic distortion and/or computational cost. While sample-by-sample processing would apply a plurality of gain ramps to a single audio sample, the block-based processing applies a single gain ramp to ensure that the audio sample is below a threshold value. To perform block-based processing, an audio limiter component identifies a maximum amplitude value across all channels for a selected audio frame of an audio signal. Using the maximum amplitude value and the threshold value, the audio limiter component determines a block gain value associated with the selected audio frame and selects between attack processing, hold processing, or release processing. Using the selected processing and the block gain value, the audio limiter component determines instantaneous gain values for the audio samples within the audio frame.
