  • Patent number: 10648173
Abstract: An insulation support system preferably includes an edge-folded ceiling liner sheet, an encapsulated package and a plurality of compressible thermal spacers. The edge-folded ceiling liner sheet includes opposed folded-up edges. The folded-up edges have sufficient length to clear pinch points along structural beams. The edge-folded ceiling liner sheet is fan-folded for retention in the encapsulated package. A pressure absorbing expansion spacer prevents roof or wall panel rumble noises and may be applied directly to roof or wall structural members, or may include a snap clip bonded to a pressure absorbing expansion spacer material. A bottom of the pressure absorbing expansion material is bonded to a top of the snap clip. The snap clip is attached to flanges of purlins or girts eliminating the need for stand-off roof panel clips, rigid thermal blocks and severe compression of an extra layer of blanket fiber glass insulation.

  • Patent number: 10422141
Abstract: An example of conversion of solar energy into other forms of useful energy is taking heat from an area below a roof and using the heat to generate mechanical energy or electrical power. An air duct opening is placed in a hottest area under the roof. An air fan is placed in the air duct to draw the heated air from the area below the roof. A heat exchanger coil is placed inside the air duct. A return air duct is routed back to the area below the roof. The heat exchanger coil is coupled to a turbine through a closed loop line. A heat transfer medium pump, a first valve and a second valve are retained in the closed loop line. The first valve, second valve and pump are used regulate heat transfer medium into and out of the turbine. An electrical generator may be connected to the turbine.

The edge-folded ceiling liner sheet includes opposed folded-up edges. The folded-up edges have sufficient length to clear pinch points along structural beams. Opposing folded-up edges of the edge-folded ceiling liner sheet are creased on the fold to fit in the encapsulated package. The edge-folded ceiling liner sheet is fan-folded for retention in the encapsulated package. A sheet slot is formed through at least one lengthwise sidewall of the encapsulated package. A removable edge seal strip is applied over the sheet slot. A compressible thermal spacer includes a snap clip and a compressible insulation material. A bottom of the compressible insulation material is bonded to a top of the snap clip. The snap clip is attached to a top flange of a purlin eliminating the need for exposed roof insulation.

  • Patent number: 10006197
Abstract: An insulation system for portable buildings preferably includes a plurality of support struts, a plurality of cross tube clamps and a ceiling sheet. The support strut is preferably a tube having a length, which is substantially equal to a distance between two adjacent rafters. Three support struts are attached to bottom support tubes of two adjacent rafters with two cross tube clamps. The three support struts may also be attached to vertical support tubes of two adjacent rafters with two in-line cross tube clamps. Opposing edges of the ceiling sheet are attached to the bottom support tubes or the vertical support tubes of the two adjacent rafters with at least two sheet clamps. An insulation retention member is placed adjacent a top of the ceiling sheet to prevent insulation from sliding down the ceiling sheet. Two adjacent insulation retention members may be secured to each other with a joining device.

  • Patent number: 8991110
Abstract: A building insulation system for roofs and walls supported from the interior side of the building, which eliminates thermal bridges and bottom side ceiling fasteners to support the insulation system materials during the insulation and exterior sheeting process of the building construction. The insulation system creates an air gap space layer in roofs and in walls between the exterior wall and roof sheeting panels and the interior sheet material, which supports the insulation material layer. An air gap space enables active solar energy collection and its use to reduce the overall purchased energy for operation of the building. The insulation system preferably includes a support sheet material, a sheet material tensioning devices, an insulation material layer, insulation hanger retention devices, heat and air collection and distribution ducts, dampers, louvers, pipes, dehumidification and condensate collection devices used in the air gap layers of the building to improve the building energy efficiency.
