Abstract: An efficient low flow, low head, undershot double acute angle turbine where the flow strikes the blades at 90° without the Betz limit. Blades are set at an acute angle to the axle and the turbine is positioned in the flow at the compliment of the blade angle. There is no lag on downstream blades. There is no turbulence when the idle blade enters the flow. Active blades exhaust to the next blade to extract more energy. Simple adjustments set the flow to the blade tip that will produce the highest rotational speed. It is portable. It can be scaled up for larger applications by adding blades to the axle or using longer blades. It can be made from repurposed materials using hand tools. Hydro installations include in a sluice and on a floating barge. It has been tested successfully in flowing water and wind.

Abstract: The embodiments herein provide a method and system for automatically optimizing a Machine-to-Machine (M2M) network including a central controller configured to communicate with a plurality of nodes controlled using one or more hubs. The method including receiving, at the central controller, one or more parameters associated with each node from the one or more hubs in the M2M network, wherein the one or more hubs requests each node using a short range communication to receive the one or more parameters from each node. Further, the method includes identifying, at the central controller, a capability of each node based on a plurality of rules. Furthermore, the method includes performing one or more actions in the one or more hubs to automatically optimize the M2M network based on the identified capability of each node in the M2M network.

Abstract: Embodiments herein generally relates to a system and method to automatically offloading a signal processing operation from a back-end processing server to a node controlled using a central controller in a Machine-to-Machine (M2M) network. Further, the method includes identifying a raw data stream in the node. Further, the method includes receiving a parameter associated with the node in the M2M network. Further, the method includes determining the capability of the node based on a plurality of rules. Further, the method includes processing the raw data stream at the corresponding node based on the identified capability. The node can further include a signal processing agent received from the central controller to process the raw data stream.

Abstract: The present embodiment provides a method and system a method for sharing Mobile Equipment Identification Number (MEID) and Mobile Index Number (MIN) to provide optimal communication in a multi-service provider environment. The method includes receiving a request to access a service provided by one or more service providers, identifying a MEID-MIN pair associated with the request, and sharing the identified MEID-MIN pair among a plurality of access nodes associated with the one or more service providers. Further, the method further includes detecting an optimized access node among the plurality of access nodes to provide access to the service based on parameters associated with the plurality of access nodes, and using the identified MEID-MIN pair to provide access to the service through the detected optimized access node.

Abstract: The proposed embodiment provides a method and system for load balancing between one or more nodes and a plurality of backhaul links over a communication network. The method includes computing processing data of the node(s) using parameters associated with the node, and computing backhaul link loading data using parameters associated with the plurality of backhaul links. Further, the method includes analyzing the processing data and the backhaul link loading data using one or more rules, and determining whether load balancing is required in accordance to the analysis. Furthermore, the method includes performing one or more actions in the communication network to load balance between the node and the plurality of backhaul links in response to determining that the load balancing is required.

Abstract: A system and a method are disclosed for detecting an interaction, such as physical contact, with a touch-sensitive screen. The screen comprises a plurality of cells each associated with a signal value, such as a capacitance, that is modified based on the proximity of an object to the screen. During a first time interval, a first signal value associated with a cell is captured and during a second time interval a second signal value associated with the cell is captured. A difference is computed by subtracting the second signal value from the first signal value. The difference is used to classify the proximity of the object to the screen. For example, the object is classified as approaching the screen if the difference is positive and non-zero or the object is classified as moving away from the screen if the difference is negative and non-zero.

Abstract: A lock for an attachment system that connects a ground engaging tool to a bucket lip. The lock is disposed, in use, between lug of a lip of the bucket and the ground engaging tool. The lock has a body, a force applying member and a force receiving member. Application of force by the force applying member causes the force receiving member to protrude from a first side of the body and to engage the lug. Relative hardnesses of the lug, the body, the force applying member and the force receiving member are such that application of a sufficiently large force via the lug to the protruding portion of the force receiving member preferentially deforms the protruding portion of the force receiving member ahead of deformation of the body or the force applying member as a preferred lock failure mode.

Abstract: One or more embodiments of the present invention disclose a system and method for enhancing the communication capabilities of a personal electronic device by modifying its existing battery module, adding communication circuitry to the modified module, and providing for the personal device to communicate in a Wireless Wide Area Network (WWAN) via this modified battery module. The system and method consists of a personal device's existing battery pack modified to contain one or more wireless communication circuits, the wireless communication circuitry included in the modified battery module, and the method by which the personal device will communicate to the WWAN using the modified battery module. The system can also be used to re-distribute WWAN communication from the modified battery module, to one or more external personal devices, using near-field communications.

Abstract: A system and method for sealing a passage around a cable is disclosed. Embodiments of the system can include an axial passage, such as a conduit and subsea wellhead housing connected to a wellbore, that can have a cable extending therethrough. The system can include an upper restrictor and a lower restrictor for closing the axial passage. An injection module having an injector and a reservoir can be fluid communication with the axial passage at an axial location between the upper restrictor and the lower restrictor. The injector can discharge a curable sealant initially stored in the reservoir into the axial passage so that at least a portion of the sealant contacts the cable at the axial location of the restrictor while the cable remains static.

Abstract: A hydraulic nut for tensioning an assembly comprises a mechanical threaded locking collar to minimize load loss during transfer of hydraulic load to the locking collar, an annular piston, an annular pressure area to generate an axial load under hydraulic pressure, a hydraulic pressure port and preferably metallic seals to maintain the hydraulic pressure within the annular pressure area that operates in an elastic region and continues to actuate hydraulic pressure after repeated operating temperature cycles. The seals of the hydraulic nut have a ‘U’ or ‘C’ shaped cross-section.

Abstract: Disclosed are image processing methods and systems to control the synchronization of two or more photoreceptor belts associated with an image processing system. According to one exemplary method, the phase error of a slave printing engine photoreceptor belt is controlled by modifying the speed of the slave printing engine photoreceptor belt by an increment which is a function of a predetermined image on image registration tolerance associated with the slave printing engine. Notable, the phase error is controlled while the slave printing engine develops an image on its respective photoreceptor belt.

Abstract: A system for facilitating debt instrument transactions has a processor for communication with a plurality of remote computers via a network. The processor is configured to store a data structure in a memory. The data structure has data items associated together as a user profile. The data items comprise data representative of a financial condition and creditworthiness for a user associated with the user profile. The processor is further configured to complete a debt instrument transaction between the user and a lender in response to inputs from a plurality of the remote computers. The processor is further configured to detect the completed debt instrument transaction, and in response to detection of the completed debt instrument transaction, automatically update the stored user profile based on the completed debt instrument transaction and republish the updated user profile so a lender may extend an offer to the user regarding another debt instrument transaction.

Abstract: A tensioner for tensioning foundation bolts generally used in securing large utility towers is provided. The tensioner generally comprises a hollow outer body through which the foundation bolt can extend. The lower end of the body, which is adapted to abut onto the foundation surface from which the bolt extends, is provided with an opening allowing access to a foundation nut threaded onto the foundation bolt. The upper end of the outer body slidingly receives therein an inner body with which it defines an annular hydraulic piston, the inner body being configured with a seat portion for receiving and engaging a split nut mounted to the foundation bolt. Upon providing hydraulic fluid to the tensioner, the hydraulic piston urges the split nut, engaged to the foundation bolt, upwardly, thereby tensioning the foundation bolt. The load in the bolt is then maintained by threading down the foundation nut until it abuts onto the foundation surface.
