Publication number: 20120331405Abstract: A system and method for presenting a group conversation on an electronic device of a user, via displaying, on a graphical user interface of the device, a group of contacts with which the user can communicate, the group of contacts comprising one or more individual contacts and one or more social circles which define a preset collection of contacts associated with one another. User input is received via the graphical user interface, the user input specifying a selection of participants from the group of contacts for a group conversation. The group conversation provides for sharing communication messages among the participants. A conversation window is presented on the graphical user interface. The conversation window displays a collection of contact icons with each contact icon respectively corresponding to one of the selected participants of the group conversation, and a conversation thread with the shared communication messages.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 15, 2012Publication date: December 27, 2012Applicant: Google Inc.Inventors: Benjamin David Eidelson, Gregory Matthew Marra, Jason B. Publication number: 20120269647Abstract: An airfoil in a gas turbine engine includes an outer wall and an inner wall. The outer wall includes a leading edge, a trailing edge opposed from the leading edge in a chordal direction, a pressure side, and a suction side. The inner wall is coupled to the outer wall at a single chordal location and includes portions spaced from the pressure and suction sides of the outer wall so as to form first and second gaps between the inner wall and the respective pressure and suction sides. The inner wall defines a chamber therein and includes openings that provide fluid communication between the respective gaps and the chamber. The gaps receive cooling fluid that provides cooling to the outer wall as it flows through the gaps. The cooling fluid, after traversing at least substantial portions of the gaps, passes into the chamber through the openings in the inner wall.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 20, 2011Publication date: October 25, 2012Inventors: Paul H. Vitt, David A. Kemp, Ching-Pang Lee, John J. Marra

Patent number: 7797225Abstract: Embodiments of systems and methods relate to the issuing, servicing, and redeeming of investment notes that are linked to the performance of a single commodity or basket of commodities and are compliant with and tradable under Sharia principles. An exemplary method for administering an investment note compliant with Sharia principles involves establishing an agency contract between an agent and a trustee wherein the agent acts on behalf of the trustee and the trustee acts on behalf of the investor, establishing a unilateral purchase agreement between the agent and the issuer under which the issuer promises to buy commodities from the agent, and purchasing, by the agent, a commodity such that the agent holds title to the commodity on behalf of the trustee.Type: GrantFiled: June 6, 2007Date of Patent: September 14, 2010Assignee: UBS AGInventors: David Kemp, Idayu Zainuddin

Patent number: 7540741Abstract: Toilet training aides, toilet training kits and related bathroom training aides and kits are disclosed. Toilet training aides may take the form of a multiple page booklet such a passport like booklet. The pages of the booklet may have a series of iconic images each depicting a toilet activity to a pre-literate or semi-literate child. Associated with each iconic image is a progress indicating area in which success indicating means may be placed for successful completion of the represented activity. Kits can include personal hygiene products ergonomically adapted to be used by a child. The aides and kits disclosed motivate and instruct a toddler or young child on all aspects of toilet training in both a comprehensive and focused manner.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 2004Date of Patent: June 2, 2009Assignee: The Procter & Gamble CompanyInventors: Ian David Kemp, Michael Gerard McCabe, Jon Aleksander Naess

Patent number: 7497686Abstract: The present invention is based on the discovery that when a tooth primordium is inserted into a mammalian jaw and tooth formation follows, new alveolar bone around the new tooth forms. The present invention is based on the idea of stimulating new tooth formation via the implantation of tooth primordia at selected places in the jaw (e.g. at four points in the molar regions) to result in the formation of bony protuberances which could facilitate denture retention. The teeth may then be removed from the jaw of the patient to leave the new alveolar bone.Type: GrantFiled: June 30, 2005Date of Patent: March 3, 2009Assignees: Odontis Ltd., Intercytek Ltd.Inventors: Paul Thomas Sharpe, Michael David Leek, Paul David Kemp, Ewan James Campbell

Patent number: 6746128Abstract: The invention provides an ultra-high numerical aperture imaging device (1) comprising two rotationally symmetric curved mirrors (11h, 12b), which can be used to achieve very high concentrations of light or other sorts of wave (or other sorts of physical entities that satisfy equivalent “ballistic” equations of motion) or can be used in reverse to form a beam that has a small angle spread, and which can be combined with a further plane, partially transparent mirror (if necessary with additional components to attenuate and rotate the polarisation of the waves involved), to create a device able to achieve a materially better resolution than that implied by the traditional Rayleigh resolution criterion. A detailed method for designing such a device is also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: September 16, 2002Date of Patent: June 8, 2004Inventor: Malcolm Hugh David Kemp

Publication number: 20030161815Abstract: The present invention provides a method for inducing organ or tissue formation by delivering inductive cells into an organ or tissue regenerative cellular environment using a controlled delivery device. For the regeneration of hair, the method includes inducing hair follicle formation by delivering inductive cells into a dermal layer using a controlled delivery device. The present invention further provides a method for using a controlled delivery device for the delivery of inductive cells into an organ or tissue regenerative cellular environment to induce organ or tissue formation. The method for using the controlled delivery device includes delivering inductive cells into a dermal layer to induce hair follicle formation.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 12, 2002Publication date: August 28, 2003Applicant: Intercytex LimitedInventors: Richard Gregory Wolowacz, Michael David Leek, Paul David Kemp, Jeffrey Keller Teumer

Patent number: 5783302Abstract: TPE's which comprise A blocks or B blocks or both A blocks and B blocks, which are crystalline and in which at least a part of the crystallinity result from the presence of crystallizable side chains. Such crystalline blocks are referred to as SCC blocks. TPE's containing SCC A blocks are novel and as such form part of the present invention. The invention also includes processes, compositions, shaped articles and assemblies which make use of TPE's containing SCC A blocks.Type: GrantFiled: May 22, 1995Date of Patent: July 21, 1998Assignee: Landec CorporationInventors: Steven P. Patent number: 5683525Abstract: The invention is a sidewall for a cargo vessel having a seamless, snag-free interior liner. The wall includes an exterior skin that is rivetted to a first side of a supporting sidepost, and a seamless, snag-free interior liner that is mounted to the second side of the sidepost. The method for making the sidewall includes rivetting the exterior skin to the first side of the supports, and then gluing the seamless interior liner material to the second side of the supports with or without tension, and so that the interior liner is not at all pierced by fasteners, or only pierced in areas that are not likely to contact cargo. In a preferred embodiment, the interior liner is mounted to the second side of the supports under tension to maximize the interior liners' ability to absorb and deflect cargo impact and remain snag-free, sag-free and puncture resistant.Type: GrantFiled: July 13, 1995Date of Patent: November 4, 1997Assignee: Dorsey Trailers, Inc.Inventors: David A. Kemp, Albert Hughes Berry, III
