  • Patent number: 9934027
Abstract: A method and apparatus for the development, delivery and deployment of action-oriented business applications supported by a cloud based action server platform are provided. The cloud action platform enables the development, delivery and deployment of a new type of business application—Action Apps which are the opposite of traditional business applications which are large, expensive, viewed as an investment, hard to upgrade and oftentimes require training. The Action Apps are light-weight consumer friendly micro-apps that enable the business user to take the right actions, at the right time to produce the right business outcome. The action may be as simple as approving a vacation request, or it may trigger a series of more complex actions such as automatically discounting stock based upon competitors pricing within a specific radius in a given timeframe.

  • Patent number: 9672503
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for bandwidth metering in large-scale networks are disclosed. Metadata for a network transmission involving a virtualized resource at a host of a provider network, including endpoint address information and a traffic metric, is determined at a metering component. The metadata is aggregated at another metering component and provided to a traffic classification node. The traffic classification node generates a categorized usage record for the network transmission, based at least in part on network topology information associated with the provider network. The categorized usage record is used to determine a billing amount for the network transmission.

  • Publication number: 20170099068
Abstract: Recently proposed noise-cancelling receivers report a best case trade-off between noise figure and linearity for a matched wideband receiver. These receivers are further improved using a passive front-end gain. The front-end gain reduces the power requirements of the radio frequency transconductance stage, and potentially other stages where, e.g., smaller mixer switches may be employed.

  • Publication number: 20150211581
Abstract: A rotational element monitoring process utilizing a machine condition indicating sensor and monitoring device adapted to a rotating machine. The process monitors at least one operating characteristic of a rotating element of a rotating machine. The operating characteristics can include velocity, acceleration, temperature, etc. The process stores the monitored current value for each operating characteristic. An alarm threshold is determined by a preprogrammed threshold. The process compares the monitored current value with the preprogrammed threshold to determine if an alarm condition should be indicated. The device establishes a measurement schedule retaining the device in a sleep mode and pulsing a condition investigation in accordance with a frequency. The frequency increases when approaching or exceeding an alarm condition. The device indicates an alarm condition by illuminating an alarm indicating light when the threshold has been exceeded.
