  • Patent number: 11690972
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for reducing condensation in a respiratory circuit during a delivery of humidifying agent into the respiratory circuit. A first amount of humidification agent to a first volume of gas is delivered to a patient respiratory circuit during a patient inhalation cycle or immediately after a patient exhalation cycle, and the humidification agent or the first volume of gas is heated. Condensation is removed from the respiratory circuit at least in part by providing, during a patient exhalation cycle or immediately after a patient inhalation cycle, a second amount of the humidification agent to a second volume of gas being delivered from the gas source to the patient respiratory circuit, the second amount of the humidification agent being significantly less than the first amount of the humidification agent.

  • Patent number: 11452889
Abstract: Oxygen-delivery systems are described. The systems may supply emergency respiratory gas on demand to aircraft passengers. To reduce risk of blockage of tubes delivering anti-blocking gas to the face masks worn by the passengers, the systems may be designed to provide a continuous trickle flow of respiratory gas, or one or more anti-blocking pulses of gas, into a delivery tube.

  • Patent number: 11437939
Abstract: A control system for a multiphase electric motor comprises processing means arranged to determine a pattern of PWM voltage waveforms to be applied to respective phases of the motor, the processing means assigning different PWM patterns for use with different motor positions. In use for a given rotational position of the motor the processing means is normally adapted to apply PWM waveforms according to the assigned PWM pattern unless a different PWM pattern is currently in use at that time, except that in the event that the demanded voltage waveforms cannot be achieved with the current PWM pattern the processing means is adapted to force the PWM pattern to change. Upon the rotor moving into a different position associated with a different assigned pattern the processing means forces the PWM pattern to change to the assigned PWM pattern.

  • Patent number: 11316459
Abstract: A control system for an electric motor comprises a controller which receives as an input a demanded motor current and produces at an output an intermediate voltage demand signal, a voltage demand signal correction means arranged to generate a voltage demand correction signal, and a combining means arranged to combine the intermediate voltage demand signal and the voltage demand correction signal to produce an actual voltage demand signal that is applied to the motor by pulse width modulation of the switches of a motor bridge driver. The correction signal compensates for unwanted non-linearities caused by interlock delays in the switching of the motor bridge switches.

  • Patent number: 11192647
Abstract: The invention comprises of a UAV designed to limit visually contrast and audibility in flight for covert surveillance operations, a method of configuring the UAVs structure to further reduce its visual signature to take account for the atmospheric and terrestrial environment it will operate in and a method of conducting a covert surveillance operation to actively minimise the UAVs visual & auditory signature from the viewpoint of an individual under surveillance. Both passive and active illumination are used to reduce the visual signature of the UAV. The UAV is actively camouflaged using lighting techniques that utilises the limitations of the human visual system and the optical effects of light interacting with the terrain, atmosphere and aircraft. The visual camouflage is directional. The audible signature of the UAV is reduced through the design of the propulsion system and the mode in which the UAV is operated.

  • Publication number: 20210198767
Abstract: This application pertains to methods of recovering metals from metal sulfides that involve contacting the metal sulfide with an acidic sulfate solution containing ferric sulfate and a reagent that has a thiocarbonyl functional group, wherein the concentration of reagent in the acidic sulfate solution is sufficient to increase the rate of metal ion extraction relative to an acidic sulfate solution that does not contain the reagent, to produce a pregnant solution containing the metal ions.
