  • Publication number: 20040154984
Abstract: According to the present invention a new device is provided for preparing biocide solutions of constant concentrations. More specifically, solid biocide is dissolved, in a controlled and monitored way, to provide solutions, all having the same and constant dose of biocide per volume. The new device overcomes the main disadvantage of the existing solid-biocide feeders, namely the decrease in the biocide concentration with time due to the gradual depletion of solid biocide in the feed container.

  • Patent number: 5933058
Abstract: A self-tuning clock recovery phase-locked loop (PLL) includes a programmable divide-by-M, a phase-frequency detector, a programmable voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO), a programmable divide-by-N, and a PLL tuning circuit, which in normal mode operation, perform as a conventional PLL. When the frequency of an input clock signal to the PLL changes by more than a threshold value, however, the PLL tuning circuit causes the PLL to be retuned for the new frequency by adjusting offset and gain parameters in the PLL such that the input voltage to the VCO is mid-way in its input voltage range when the output clock frequency of the PLL is approximately equal to the input clock frequency multiplied by a closed loop gain of the PLL, so that the VCO is operating in a linear region having wide dynamic frequency range.

  • Patent number: 5907264
Abstract: A modulating array transmitter that employs a power recycling method and power recovery circuit. The modulating array transmitter uses a plurality of multiphase power stages to generate a multi-point QAM constellation. Outputs of the plurality of multiphase power stages are combined in an output power combiner. The output power combiner uses terminating resistors on its difference power port(s). Using the present invention, power normally dissipated in the terminating resistors is recovered. Instead of dissipating this difference RF power, the present invention converts this power to DC power using rectifiers of the power recovery circuit. The rectified DC power may be used to supplement the DC power required for power amplifiers in the multiphase power stages. In this manner, the difference power is "recycled" and thus may be reused.

  • Patent number: 5326546
Abstract: A method and apparatus for the generation, use, and disposal of chlorine dioxide is disclosed. A solid sodium chlorite composition having impurities, at least one of which is sodium hydroxide, is contacted with an agent to consume essentially all of the sodium hydroxide. Chlorine dioxide gas is then generated by contacting the resultant composition with chlorine in a humidified inert carrier gas. The resultant chlorine dioxide gas mixture may then be treated to remove chlorine gas present therein by contacting the same with soda-lime in particulate form. After using the chlorine dioxide gas mixture in the desired manner, chlorine dioxide present in the spent effluent gas may be substantially removed via the introduction of the effluent gas into an aqueous solution of sodium thiosulfate having a sufficient amount of an inorganic base to maintain the alkalinity of the solution during consumption of thiosulfate by chlorine dioxide.

  • Patent number: 4141055
Abstract: Disclosed is a crossover structure and method of fabricating such structure which contributes low capacitance to the circuit performance. The crossover utilizes a dielectric material which includes spheres of an insulating material in order to separate the conductors. In one aspect of the invention, a UV curable epoxy including hollow glass spheres is deposited on the crosspoint areas and the crossover connector deposited thereon. In another aspect of the invention, the crossover is formed with an air gap and the gap is subsequently filled with an encapsulating material including the spheres.
