  • Publication number: 20160162820
Abstract: Governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) functionality is implemented in a cloud environment utilizing logic provided by a function library that is present within an underlying in-memory database layer. In some embodiments, the GRC logic of the in-memory database function library is expressed in a language (e.g., C++) agnostic to that of an overlying application layer(s). In other embodiments, the in-memory database function library may be expressed in a specialized application code (e.g., ABAP of SAP SE) that is utilized by an application/application layer designed to interact with the in-memory database (e.g., HANA of SAP SE). In such embodiments the logic of the function library may be consumed (e.g. by the in-memory database engine) utilizing a function afforded by that specialized language. Particular embodiments may check for Segregation of Duties (SoD) violations based upon user and risk information input to the system.

  • Patent number: 9157315
Abstract: Disclosed herein are electromagnetic resistivity logging systems and methods that employ an antenna configuration having at most two transmitter or receiver antenna orientations that rotate relative to the borehole. The measurements made by this reduced-complexity antenna configuration enable the determination of at least seven components of a coupling matrix, which may be determined using a linear system of equations that express the azimuthal dependence of the measurements. For increased reliability, measurement averaging may be performed in azimuthally spaced bins. The coupling matrix components can then be used as the basis for determining logs of various formation parameters, including vertical resistivity and anisotropy.

  • Patent number: 8824106
Abstract: A read head with two read sensors enables reading of a magnetically recorded medium of increased areal densities such as would be provided by two-dimensional magnetic recording. The two sensors, which may be formed in separate depositions, are arranged vertically relative to each other as top and bottom sensors, with a downtrack displacement between them that is less than 900 A and a crosstrack displacement that is less than 600 A. Their separate free layers are connected by four or three conducting leads and require no junctions for their connections. In one embodiment each sensor has separate top and bottom shields and leads. In another embodiment, there is a common shield and lead between the two sensors, but a separate top shield/lead for the top sensor and bottom shield/lead for the bottom sensor.
