Abstract: Applicators for use in retrieving product (generally a liquid) from a reservoir, with an applicator for entry to the reservoir coupled to a cap. The cap is configured to be selectively actuated by including a squeezable element. Unlike “bulb” based devices having a cap in the common form of a bulb, a more modern look is created with a cylindrical or other cap shape. The cylindrical cap in one example has generally rigid sides with a squeezable or depressible element having an accordion-type design. The accordion-type design may be hidden from a user. In another example the cylindrical cap has a rigid top surface and is squeezable from its sides. In yet another example, the cylindrical cap is flexible on its sides and top, but does not have the commonly known bulb-shape. The applicator may be, for example, a diptube, a doefoot applicator, a sponge, a plastic, a brush, or any other suitable applicator for cosmetics.

Abstract: A system and method are provided that capture an image of an asset and analyze the captured image to identify an indicia on the asset. The indicia is used, after identification, to identify the asset. The system may also be configured to identify a type of asset, to track the asset, to verify a manifest for a group of assets, or to identify damage to an asset based on comparing the captured image of the asset with a previously captured image of the asset.

Abstract: A jar and lid assembly that includes a jar assembly configured to hold a product and a base configured to at least partially house the jar. The jar and lid assembly also includes a rotatable lid assembly pivotably coupled to the jar assembly and includes an outer lid portion and an inner lid portion. The rotatable lid assembly further includes a lid ring having: (i) a hinge portion configured to pivot on an axis of the base such that the rotatable lid assembly is pivotable relative to the jar assembly and (ii) a lid ring protruding portion disposed within the gap and a liner disposed on an underside of the inner lid portion and configured to contact the jar when the rotatable lid assembly is in a rotatably closed position. The outer lid portion and the inner lid portion are configured to be movable relative to the lid ring.

Abstract: Cosmetic containers having multiple levels, a lid, and a base, in which the opening of the lid also provides access to at least first and second levels having one or more compartments for products and/or applicators. The base may contain a first level, and be coupled via a first linkage to a second level. The lid may be coupled by a pivot assembly to the base and to the second level by a second linkage. The overall assembly may allow access to both the first level and the second level on opening the lid.

Abstract: Embodiments of a row address cache circuit are disclosed that may allow the determination the number of times a row address is used to access a dynamic memory. The row address cache circuit may include a memory, first and second pluralities of counters, and a control circuit. The control circuit may be configured to receive a row address and store the row address in an entry of the memory when the row address has not been previously stored. When the row address has been previously stored in an entry of the memory, the control circuit may be configured to change a value of a counter of the first plurality of counters corresponding the entry. The control circuit may be further configured to change a value of each counter of the second plurality of counters after a pre-determined time interval has elapsed, and initiate a refresh of the dynamic memory.

Abstract: Path calculation systems and methods for determining a path, based on constraints and rules, for a connection at one or more layers in a network, include determining a path exploration map of the network based on a multi-layer network model of the network defining external edges and intra-node paths, the path exploration map comprising every external port in the network that is reachable from a source port; and utilizing the path exploration map to determine a viable path, from a destination port to the source port, subject to the constraints and the rules and based on a cost.

Abstract: A slim-sized, dual makeup applicator provides two applicators for cosmetic product application or maintenance. The applicators are contained or removably fitted within a single body, providing for a compact arrangement. A longitudinal base has two opposing distal ends, each distal end having either an attached applicator that extends longitudinally outward from the longitudinal base or a recess within the longitudinal base for fitting and containing therein a removable applicator. According to an embodiment, a removable cap may be included to expose and cover the attached applicator. The attached applicator or the removable cap may be configured to contain a cosmetic product for application with the attached applicator; and for the removable applicator portion, the removable applicator or the recess may be configured to contain a cosmetic product for application with the removable applicator.

Abstract: A distributed tangible user interface comprises compact, self-powered, tangible user interface manipulative devices having sensing, display, and wireless communication capabilities, along with one or more associated digital content or other interactive software management applications. The manipulative devices display visual representations of digital content or program controls and can be physically manipulated as a group by a user for interaction with the digital information or software application. A controller on each manipulative device receives and processes data from a movement sensor, initiating behavior on the manipulative and/or forwarding the results to a management application that uses the information to manage the digital content, software application, and/or the manipulative devices.

Abstract: The invention provides a genetic tool to insert, replace, delete, or otherwise manipulate a nucleic acid sequence in a microorganism to produce a recombinant microorganism. Notably, the invention makes use of homologous recombination, a type of genetic recombination in which nucleotide sequences are exchanged between two similar or identical molecules of DNA. Since the invention involves three homologous recombination events, it is referred to as a “triple cross” method.

Abstract: A quick release container is provided that includes a base having a base perimeter. The base perimeter also has a well configured to hold a product. The quick release container also includes a lid assembly configured to be removably coupled to the base. The lid assembly includes a lid having: (i) an outer portion extending around a top of the base and having a height extending from the top of the base; and (ii) an inner portion extending between a perimeter of the outer portion and disposed over the well of the base. The lid assembly also includes a depressible element extending between the perimeter of the outer portion, spaced from the inner portion and configured to move along the height of the outer portion. The lid assembly further includes a clamping device coupled to the lid and removably coupled to the base. When the depressible element is moved in a first direction toward the clamping device, a first force is applied to the clamping device causing the clamping device to disengage from the base.

Abstract: The present invention describes a device and system for simulating normal and disease state cardiovascular functioning, including an anatomically accurate left cardiac simulator for training and medical device testing. The system and device uses pneumatically pressurized chambers to generate ventricle and atrium contractions. In conjunction with the interaction of synthetic valves which simulate mitral and aortic valves, the system is designed to generate pumping action that produces accurate volume fractions and pressure gradients of pulsatile flow, duplicating that of a human heart. Through the use of a control unit and sensors, one or more parameters such as flow rates, fluidic pressure, and heart rate may be automatically controlled, using feedback loop mechanisms to adjust parameters of the hydraulic system simulate a wide variety of cardiovascular conditions including normal heart function, severely diseased or injured heart conditions, and compressed vasculature, such as hardening of the arteries.
