  • Publication number: 20240139531
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for generating pulse pacing in a wearable cardioverter defibrillator (“WCD”). In one aspect the WCD circuitry includes a power source such as a battery coupled to a charger that provides charge energy to an energy storage module. Control circuitry is operatively coupled to the charger and the output circuitry, and configured to cause the WCD circuitry to generate pacing pulses delivered to therapy electrodes (attached to an ambulatory patient) without a current source. The WCD circuitry includes one or more processing elements that are used to execute instructions provided by one or more software modules that are configured to support various functionality, including controlling generation of pacing pulses.

  • Patent number: 7721407
Abstract: A security device is described including a bolt and a securement washer through which the bolt is be disposed. The securement washer includes a hole, at least one circumferential groove within the hole, and a C-shaped ring disposed within the circumferential groove. The security device also includes a first end cap with a bolt head receiving well, a first end cap hole through which the shaft of the bolt is disposed, and a first end cap circumferential wall extending above the head of the bolt. The first end cap circumferential wall permits the first end cap to be closed around the head of the bolt. The security device also includes a second end cap with a securement washer receiving well and a second end cap circumferential wall extending above the securement washer. The second end cap circumferential wall permitting the second end cap to be closed around the securement washer.

  • Publication number: 20090058105
Abstract: A security device includes a securement washer having a securement washer hole, and a circumferential groove within the hole. An end cap includes a well that contains the securement washer, and an end cap circumferential wall that extends around the securement washer. A portion of the end cap circumferential wall extends over a circumferential portion of the securement washer located around the securement washer hole. The portion of the end cap circumferential wall comprises tamper-evident indicia on a surface thereof. The tamper-evident indicia is formed so as to remain unchanged until and unless the security device is tampered with. The security device may be manufactured by forming tamper-evident indicia such as a disturbance on a surface of an end cap such that the indicia remains unchanged until or unless the security device is tampered with. The tamper-evident indicia may be formed by an orbital forming process.

  • Publication number: 20080066359
Abstract: A label and a label for a security seal are described. The label includes a flexible body with first and second portions connected to one another via a separable connection. A first adhesive is disposed on a rear surface of the first portion. A second adhesive is disposed on a rear surface of the second portion. First information is applied to the first portion. Second information is applied to the second portion. At least a portion of the first information is identical to a portion of the second information. Either the first portion or the second portion includes tamper-evident indicia such that attempted separation of either portion from a substrate, once affixed, exposes the tamper-evident indicia. The first adhesive is formulated to securely affix the first portion to a seal body. The second adhesive is formulated to securely affix the second portion to a document.

  • Patent number: 7017432
Abstract: An umbilical connection for use in a hazardous environment like a floating roof storage tank has one or more hydraulic hoses, one or more electrical cables or a combination thereof. Each hydraulic hose has a static dissipative and abrasion resistant covering. Each electrical cable has an abrasion resistant coating. The hoses and cables are bundled and wrapped in a static dissipative and abrasion resistant open mesh sheath or an overbraid to form the intrinsically safe umbilical connection.

  • Patent number: 6929142
Abstract: A hatch cover for deployment over a hatchway formed in a floating roof liquid storage tank permits rapid loading and unloading of inspection or maintenance equipment and minimizes vapor emissions from the tank. The portable hatch cover has two base plates movably connected at a hinge and each defining complementary recesses. A circular flange extends from the bottom surfaces of the base plates to seat the hatch cover in the hatchway. Two door panels are movably connected at hinges to the top surfaces of the base plates. When one or both of the door panels are opened, equipment may be loaded into the tank through the complementary recesses. When closed, the door panels cover the recesses in the base plates. Complementary notches in the door panels provide an opening through which equipment tubing or wiring may extend when the door panels are closed. A collar gasket optionally may be wrapped around the tubing or wiring as a further means to limit vapor emissions from the tank.
