  • Patent number: 6536650
Abstract: A self-grounding soldering tip having a spring which serves for connecting the soldering tip to a heater bobbin for establishing a secure grounding of the soldering tip. A bobbin tube extends within the heater bobbin for removably retaining the soldering tip within the bobbin. The connection between the spring and bobbin tube provide tip-to-ground continuity. Moreover, the contact surfaces of the spring and bobbin tube are wiped clean upon plug-in and plug-out. The spring and bobbin tube are located in a cooler area of the soldering iron to slow down the rate of oxidation. Also, the spring and bobbin tube are made of the same or compatible materials, e.g., stainless steel, to prevent reactions that normally occur between incompatible metals.

  • Patent number: 5331781
Abstract: An automated car park (10) is illustrated having a plurality of storage locations (21) arranged on a plurality of levels (42) and transportation means (53) for transporting the cars to or from selected storage locations (21). The transportation means (53) includes a pallet truck (57) which travels along guide rails (32) positioned on either side of an aisle (44) separating opposing rows of storage locations. A pallet dolly (56) supports a pallet (55) upon which a car (54) may be supported and enables a selected pallet to be transferred between storage locations (21) and the pallet truck (57). Lifting means are provided to lift the pallet truck between levels.

  • Patent number: 5069631
Abstract: An actuator for use with electric conductor systems using push-to-connect fittings, especially suitable for tractor/semi-trailer connections employing an actuator body having linearly displaceable plungers mounted upon a flexible conductor fitting which separates the conductor fitting and receptacle upon the plungers extending. A lever operator mounted upon the actuator body is connected to a flexible lanyard of a length less than that of the electrical conductor whereby tensioning of the lanyard occurs before damaging tension can be applied to the conductor and lanyard tensioning extends the plungers to disconnect the conductor fitting and receptacle.

  • Patent number: 4689868
Abstract: The invention pertains to the attachment of a wrenching nut to a metal conduit wherein torque forces can be applied to the conduit through the nut. An annular nut member is located upon a conduit and the conduit is radially deformed to force the conduit material into engagement with keying surfaces defined upon the nut. Conduit deformation occurs on both sides of the nut for axial positioning thereof, as well as establishing a torque transmitting relationship between the nut and conduit.
