  • Patent number: 7104408
Abstract: Sorter/organizer for file folders or other objects, includes at least three planar walls arranged parallel to one another and including a front wall, a rear wall and at least one dividing wall arranged between the front and rear walls. Side walls are connected to the three walls with each having a lower edge coplanar with a lower edge of the front wall and arranged to enable a bottom of the compartments to be positioned at varied heights. A first stepped bottom wall is connected to the three walls and to at least one side wall such that at least two compartments receivable of objects and staggered in relation to one another are formed. At least one side wall has upper edge portions connected to the first bottom wall. Ledges extend above the upper edge portions of the side walls and alongside a bottom of a respective compartment.

  • Patent number: 7100999
Abstract: Modular storage and/or display system including substantially rectangular modules each including opposed first and second sides, opposed third and fourth sides perpendicular to the first and second sides and coupled thereto. A male connecting member is provided on an outer surface of each of the first and third sides and a female connecting member is provided on an outer surface of each of the second and fourth sides. The female connecting member has a structure complementary to the male connecting member. An additional male or female connecting member is provided on each of the first and second sides. By providing the same male and female connecting members on all sides of the modules, each module is connectable to any other module by coupling a connecting member on that module to an opposite connecting member on the other module.

  • Patent number: 7086538
Abstract: Multi-section retaining/sorting/browsing apparatus including a base defining at least one cavity and including a first plurality of parallel slots opening thereto and dividers arranged in connection with the base to define an object-retaining section between adjacent dividers. Each divider has an anchor portion arranged in the cavity and an object support portion coupled to the anchor portion and extending through a respective slot to provide a support for retaining objects. To retain the dividers in connection with the base, the anchor portion of each divider has a width larger than a width of the respective slot. The anchor portion is rotatable in the cavity to enable the divider to be flipped forward and backward in a longitudinal direction. When file folders or other objects are retained in the object-retaining sections, it becomes possible to sort papers, documents or files in the sections and to browse through the contents of a file folder without removing them from the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 7086569
Abstract: Dispenser including a cartridge module and a powder or liquid dispensing agent arranged in the cartridge module. Dispensing occurs when the dispenser is jarred which causes the dispensing agent to pass through one or more dispenser openings in a lower wall of the cartridge module. For example, when the dispenser is mounted to an inner surface of a pivotable lid of a waste disposal can, closure of the lid against a base of the can causes a jarring impact on the lid which results in an amount of the dispensing agent falling through the dispensing opening(s). The lid can also be manually tapped when closed to jar the dispenser.

  • Patent number: 6929542
Abstract: Air deflector for deflecting an air flow from an air register including a pair of mounting members adapted to be mounted on opposite sides of a venting member of the air register device and a laterally expandable guide member arranged between the mounting members. The guide member is expandable to different lengths to thereby enable the length between the mounting members to vary and allow the air deflector to be used for different sized air registers. The guide member is pivotally connected to the mounting members and pivotable into different angular positions relative to the mounting members to thereby enable the air flow to be deflected into different directions depending on the angular position of the guide member.

  • Patent number: 6851251
Abstract: Waste disposal device including a housing defining a waste compartment for receiving enclosed waste and arranged to removably receive a cartridge containing a length of flexible tubing which operatively receives waste therein, a retention mechanism for holding a quantity of waste received in the tubing and a rotation mechanism for rotating the retention mechanism when the quantity of waste is held thereby and while the cartridge is stationary in order to twist the tubing and enclose the held quantity of waste. The compartment in the housing receives the enclosed waste. The waste is thus rotated while the cartridge is held against rotation thereby enabling the formation of the twist above the waste to enclose or encapsulate the waste. A pushing mechanism may be provided on a cover of the device to push the waste into engagement with the retention mechanism.

  • Patent number: 6804930
Abstract: Waste disposal device including a container defining a waste storage chamber and a cartridge arranged in the container and containing a length of flexible tubing for encapsulating waste packages. A retention mechanism is arranged in the container to hold the waste package. A rotation mechanism is provided to cause relative rotation between the cartridge and the retention mechanism in order to form a twist above a waste package when the waste package is being held by the retention mechanism and thereby encapsulate the waste package in the tubing. Encapsulation of the waste package prevents the release of odors from the waste package and thus, the invention provides a convenient and sanitary disposal of the waste packages. A series of encapsulated waste packages is thus created in the container, each package contained within a portion of the tubing and sealed at each end by the twisting process.
