  • Patent number: 10355919
Abstract: A method, non-transitory machine readable medium, and system are provided for configuring a storage device. In some embodiments, the method includes establishing, by a storage system, a near field communication (NFC) session with a mobile device. A first set of identifiers is sent from the storage system to the mobile device via the NFC session. The first set of identifiers is modified at the mobile device. The mobile device sends the modified set of identifiers to the storage system. The modified set of identifiers is then assigned to the storage system.

  • Patent number: 10327706
Abstract: Pairing is provided between first and second wireless devices in a physiological condition management system. The first and second wireless devices are placed in proximity to initiate generation of a secret key via a random process at one of the devices and to exchange the secret key with the other device using a wireless near field communication (NFC) link. The shared secret key is then used to encrypt data for communication between the first and second wireless devices via a different secure radio frequency (RF) wireless channel.

  • Publication number: 20190166674
Abstract: An entertainment system plays out audio and/or visual media into a region, wherein the media further comprises metadata specifying an optimal ambience setting for the media. A lighting system controls ambient lighting in the region, the lighting system comprising one or more luminaries, and the one or more luminaires comprising at least one moveable luminaire. Further, a controller determines one or more positioning instructions to specify a target position of the at least one moveable luminaire in order to achieve the optimal ambience setting specified in the metadata, and output the one or more positioning instructions in order to cause the at least one moveable luminaire to be repositioned. The controller then controls the ambient lighting by varying one or more light characteristics of the ambient lighting based on the metadata, such that the ambient lighting corresponds to the playing out of the media.

  • Publication number: 20190124745
Abstract: A lighting script—for use by a lighting controller to control at least one luminaire to render illumination effects, as the video content is outputted in a space illuminated by the at least one luminaire, synchronously with the outputting of the video content—is generated as follows. Frame image data of the video content is processed to determine at least one colour palette of the frame image data. A sequence of illumination effects—to be rendered during the outputting of the video content and which is modifiable by a user—is displayed to the user. The displayed sequence conveys at least one illumination colour derived from the determined colour palette to be rendered in at least one of the illumination effects. The generated lighting script is for rendering the modified sequence of illumination effects.

  • Publication number: 20190099668
Abstract: A game lighting controller detects implicit triggers in the video games, each based on analysing audio and/or video content output during gameplay and/or an effect on one or more players invoked by the content. Each implicit trigger corresponds to a respective one of a set of predefined event types. Based on detecting one of these triggers in a video game, the controller identifies an event occurring within that video game as being of a certain one of the predefined event types. The controller also reads metadata specifying a classification of the video game from amongst a set of predefined classifications. Based on identifying the event as being of the particular predetermined type, and in dependence on the classification of the video game specified in the metadata, the controller controls illumination emitted by one or more luminaires to produce a lighting effect to accompany the first event during gameplay.
