  • Patent number: 10591110
Abstract: An attachment assembly securable about a rod having external threads to enable a support item, such as a strut, to be supported by the rod at a desired location along the length thereof includes a body defining a substantially linear groove having a surface which is shaped substantially complementary to the shape of the external threads which extend along one side of the rod. A clamping arrangement is associated with the body for clamping the surface of the linear groove of the body in a meshed relationship with the external threads of the rod. A bracket to which a support item can be attached is fixedly secured to the body so that by clamping the surface of the linear groove of the body in a meshed relationship with the threads of the rod as aforesaid, the support item can be attached to the rod by way of the bracket.

  • Patent number: 10471980
Abstract: A material cart including a wheeled rectangular base frame includes corner members having an end portion of reduced size at one end thereof and which are arrangable in either reduced end-up or a reduced end-down orientation at the corners of the material cart to facilitate the stacking of the material cart with a material cart of like construction. If desired, these corner members enable the weight of the cart to be supported upon the underlying floor through the corner members, rather than through the wheels of the cart. The cart also includes a top assembly by which the cart is capable of being lifted, and a fork-accepting mount is securable to the top assembly in alternative orientations to enable the material cart to be lifted with the fork of a forklift which approaches the mount from either a side of the cart or from an end of the cart.

  • Patent number: 10272935
Abstract: A hand cart and a method of use for lifting a spool of material from a floor includes a wheeled base and a spool-supporting rack section which includes a pair of parallel arm sections having two ends which extend forwardly of the cart. A pair of floor-engaging struts are joined to the arm sections adjacent the forwardly-extending ends thereof, and a pair of pillow blocks having a pair of axially-aligned openings are secured to the arm sections. By pivoting the cart forwardly about the struts from a first position at which the wheels engage the floor to a second position at which the wheels are elevated from the floor, then inserting an axle rod in sequence through one pillow block opening, through the barrel of the item and then through the other pillow block opening and then returning the cart to the first position, the item is lifted above the floor.

  • Patent number: 10027097
Abstract: A crimp-on single-use lanyard assembly which includes a cord portion and an elongated, hollow wire-accepting connector body connected to the cord portion utilizes a connector body which includes a window through which a user can visually determine whether the wire has been inserted endwise into the interior of the connector body by a predetermined distance or, more specifically, to a near fully-accepted position within the connector body. In addition, the hollow interior of the connector body has a coarse surface provided with a plurality of projections disposed thereacross so that when the connector body is crimped about the inserted wire, the projections of the coarse surface bite into the wire and thereby enhances the grip of the connector body about the inserted wire.

  • Patent number: 9975727
Abstract: Apparatus for lifting and supporting an item above a floor includes a frame and a pair of upright telescoping post assemblies having two opposite ends and which are positionable on opposite sides of the item to be lifted. A pair of guide posts are arranged as to extend substantially vertically of the frame and adjacent the post assemblies. A carriage assembly having an elongated member is mounted upon each post assembly for cooperating between the item and an adjacent guide post, and jacks are utilized for moving the ends of the post assemblies apart so that by positioning the elongated members of the carriage assemblies in cooperating relationship with an end of the item and moving the ends of the post assemblies apart, the end of the item is lifted by a corresponding amount and the carriage assemblies are guided along the guide posts.

  • Patent number: 9889871
Abstract: An apparatus and method for lifting a spool of windable material including a barrel and two flanges whose rims engage the floor utilizes a ring having a diameter which is greater than the height of the flanges of the spool desired to be lifted. A strut spans at least a portion of the ring interior, and a carriage assembly which is cooperable with the spool barrel at one end thereof is mounted upon the strut for movement between first and second locations therealong so that by positioning the apparatus alongside one flange of the spool while the carriage assembly is positioned in its first location along the strut, placing the carriage assembly in cooperating relationship with the barrel of the spool, and then effecting the movement of the carriage assembly along the length of the strut to the second location therealong, the one flange of the spool is lifted from the floor.

  • Patent number: 9748746
Abstract: A feeding sheave assembly for use at the open end of a conduit into which a wire or cable is to be fed during a wire or cable-pulling operation includes an elongated sleeve portion which is insertable endwise into the open end of the conduit and an abutment plate for abutting the open end of the conduit when the sleeve portion is fully inserted within the conduit. An arrangement is provided for releasably locking the sleeve portion in a stationary relationship with the conduit, and a sheave is rotatably mounted upon the abutment plate so that when the sleeve portion is releasably locked within the open end of the conduit, a wire or cable which is directed into the conduit end during a wire or cable-pulling operation moves across and then off of the peripheral roller surface of the sheave before moving into the conduit end.

  • Patent number: 9254983
Abstract: A tool which is positionable adjacent a relatively sharp edge around which or past which a sheathed cable is desired to be routed includes a pair of clamping members which are manipulable with the hand of a user and adapted to be clamped to an item disposed adjacent the relatively sharp edge. In addition, the tool includes a pair of guide members which are attached to the clamping members of the tool and which provide, when the tool is clamped about the item, a substantially enclosed, smooth-surfaced passageway through which the sheathed cable can be routed to eliminate any contact between the relatively sharp edge and the sheathed cable routed around or past the relatively sharp edge. The defined passageway reduces the likelihood that the relative sharp edge will damage the sheathing of the cable as the cable is routed around or past the relatively sharp edge.

  • Patent number: 9172224
Abstract: A puller device for pulling a wire or rope through a conduit includes first and second motor-driven capstans about which a wire or rope can be wound for wire or rope-pulling purposes and an elongated arm arrangement having an end which is positionable adjacent the conduit through which the wire or rope is to be pulled. The first elongated arm member is connected to the second arm member for movement about a pivot axis, and there are provided a plurality of rollers adjacent the pivot axis having surfaces along which the wire or rope bears against so that forces which are exerted adjacent the pivot axis by the wire or rope are distributed between the rollers. In addition, a conduit-engaging assembly mounted upon the elongated arm arrangement holds the conduit in a fixed positional relationship with respect to the elongated arm arrangement during a wire or rope-pulling operation.
