  • Patent number: 4607979
Abstract: A material spreader for spreading large rock over a wet concrete or other surface utilizes a pair of hoppers which are driven back and forth on a bridge support spanning the surface. A gasoline engine mounts above the hoppers and furnishes power for a reversibly-controllable hydraulic hopper drive motor. The rock is dispensed by a rough-surfaced hydraulically motor driven cylinder with the discharge opening being controlled by a pair of spring-loaded gates which position themselves in response to the size rock being spread and the direction of travel of the spreader.

  • Patent number: 4556339
Abstract: A trowel blade assembly attaches to the drive arm of a concrete troweling machine by means of a mounting bar which is bolted to the drive arm. The mounting bar in turn is received by a U-shaped bracket which is bolted to the trowel blade and incorporates recesses formed so as to cover the threaded connections between the blade and the bracket to permit easy removal. A quick release fastener passes through mating holes formed in the bracket and the bar enabling rapid repositioning or replacement of the blade-bracket assembly when one or both of the working edges of the blade are worn.

  • Patent number: 4555200
Abstract: A material spreader for spreading a topping material over a wet concrete surface utilizes a pair of hoppers which are driven back and forth on a bridge support spanning the surface. A gasoline engine mounts above the hoppers and furnishes power for a reversibly controllable hydraulic hopper drive motor. The motor is part of a hydraulic system in which the hydraulic fluid is cooled by using both a hopper wall as well as the flowing material being spread as heat sinks.

  • Patent number: 4320986
Abstract: A motor powered rotary trowel employs a plurality of radially arranged trowel blades which can be adjustably tilted on their support arms in either direction and are mounted on a drive shaft which can be driven in either direction thereby enabling the weight of the trowel to be selectively supported on the edges on one side or the other of the trowel blades. In an alternative embodiment, selected parts of the trowel are arranged to fold to facilitate transport.

  • Patent number: 4213749
Abstract: A lightweight and portable vibrating screed is made up of a base frame unit which mounts a variable speed drive engine and to which other pivotal sub-frame units may be attached for extending the length of the screed. A shaft is supported with a substantial amount of play between the shaft and its support bearings for rotation between a trailing pair of screed blades to which vibration is imparted throughout the length of the screed as the shaft is driven by the engine. The engine vibration is also imparted in a manner to cause the screed to creep forward which reduces the force required to advance the screed over the concrete. A third leading blade to which relatively minimal vibration is imparted acts to level the concrete, substantially reduces manual puddling and improves the screeding accomplished by the trailing pair of blades.
