  • Patent number: 4392905
Abstract: A decorative laminate and method of transferring designs onto articles. The laminate is formed of a transfer substrate affixed to a support member. The transfer substrate is composed of a protective layer, an ink layer and a resinous coating layer. Optionally, a barrier layer is provided beteen the resinous layer and the ink layer. In many applications the protective coating layer may be omitted. The laminate is applied to an article using a heated silicone rubber transfer pad to which the transfer substrate adheres during the transfer process.

  • Patent number: 4388011
Abstract: An apparatus for dispensing materials, such as toothpaste, stick deodorant, lipstick and the like, comprising a hollow handle for containing material, a dispenser drive member reciprocally disposed in the handle and at least one rotatable operator provided at one end of the handle and operably connected to the drive member for longitudinally moving the drive member within the handle in order to force the material therein out of the opposite end. Also a disposable, collapsible paste material cartridge for containing material to be dispensed within the handle and cooperating with the drive member.

  • Patent number: 4373606
Abstract: Both an improved loudspeaker enclosure and an improved acoustical process for generating sound radiation in a room is herein disclosed. Basically, the walls of the improved enclosure include a loudspeaker, and a sound transmission port for transmitting sound generated by the back of the loudspeaker cone into the room. The interior of the enclosure includes a tuned acoustical chamber for absorbing the even and odd harmonics of the system resonance frequency, and a compression chamber acoustically coupled at one end to the back of the loudspeaker cone. The compression chamber is acoustically coupled to both the tuned acoustical chamber and the transmission port of the enclosure walls by means of an acoustical coupling.

  • Patent number: 4371902
Abstract: A rotating magnetic memory, such as a disk drive using sector servo information, is initialized with servo information by first using the dedicated product head assembly, including transducers and the mounting and accessing mechanisms associated therewith, to write on the innermost and outermost data tracks, following which the tracks written by each transducer are read using a precision servowriter mechanism which is then positioned to duplicate the access path of the product head assembly and determine the position of such innermost and outermost tracks. By then offsetting the precision servowriter by a half track pitch and writing the servo information to form equally spaced tracks, the disk is initialized with full track pitch servo information which is positioned and aligned with the position and alignment of the dedicated product head assembly.
