    Abstract: A fixing unit and an image forming apparatus are provided. The fixing unit applies heat and pressure to a print medium on which a toner image is formed and fixes the toner image on the print medium. The fixing unit includes a heating roller including a heating source, at least two pressurizing rollers which are pressed against the heating roller along an outer circumferential surface of the heating roller, adhesion elastic bodies which elastically press the pressurizing rollers toward the heating roller at first locations of both ends of the pressurizing rollers, and correction elastic bodies which elastically press the pressurizing rollers at second locations of both ends of the pressurizing rollers in the opposite direction of the adhesion elastic bodies. With this structure, the fixing unit forms sufficient fixing nips to reliably fix toner images on the print medium while maintaining a compact structure.

The fusing unit includes a pipe-shaped fusing roller, an internal pipe inserted into an inner portion of the fusing roller, a heating unit disposed between the fusing roller and the internal pipe to surround the internal pipe and generate heat, and an insulating portion having a first insulating portion disposed between the heating unit and the fusing roller and a second insulating portion disposed between the heating unit and the internal pipe. The first insulating portion has a higher thermal conductivity than the second insulating portion.

    Abstract: A heating roller includes an exterior aluminum pipe preferably coated with a Teflon layer. A primer layer is disposed inside the exterior aluminum pipe. An outer insulating layer is disposed inside the primer layer. A heating coil is disposed inside the outer insulating layer. An inner insulating layer is disposed inside the heating coil. An aluminum interior pipe is disposed inside the inner insulating layer, and has a predetermined expandability. The heating roller is used as an image fixing unit for fixing a developed image on a recording medium while being pressed by a pressing roller at a predetermined pressure.

    Abstract: A voltage controlled oscillator is provided. The oscillator has an oscillator amplifier core formed of a complementary pair of FETs connected with their gates in common and connected to share a bias current. An inductance is connected between the common gates and the common drains of the FETs. The inductance may be an inductor element or an inductance of a physical structure of the circuit, such as a bond wire. The voltage controlled oscillator includes a variable capacitor stage connected at the input of the oscillator amplifier stage and a buffer amplifier stage connected at the output of the oscillator amplifier stage. The buffer amplifier of one embodiment includes a pair of complementary FETs having common gates connected to the common drains of the FETs of the oscillator amplifier stage. The buffer amplifier stage also include an inductor and a capacitor connected between common drains of the buffer amplifier FETs and the output.

    Abstract: A confocal scanning microscope using a Nipkow disk prevents deterioration of performance in an optical axis direction while maintaining a high measurement speed. The confocal scanning microscope includes a light source, an illuminating device to pass the light from the light source toward a certain direction, and two Nipkow disks each having slit-shaped apertures formed thereon such that the light incident from the illuminating device travels in a form of light which passed through a single aperture. In addition, the confocal scanning microscope includes a first optical system to form an image on a sample by the light passed through the Nipkow disks, and a second optical system to form a second image by the light reflected from the sample and passed through the Nipkow disks.
