    Abstract: An optical trigger for bows, crossbows and firearms preferably includes a trigger member, a light source and a light receiver. The trigger member is pivotally retained relative to at least one surface with a pivot rod. The trigger member preferably includes a pull area and an actuation area. An actuation hole is preferably formed above a pivot point. The actuation hole allows light to travel from the light source to the light receiver. The light source and the light receiver are retained relative to one of first and second sides of the trigger member. One end of a spring is engaged with an edge of the actuation area and the other end is retained relative to a support surface. It is preferable to have a light shield located on opposing sides of the trigger member. Each light shield surrounds the actuation hole and the light source or light receiver.

The arrow tip locator extends from the end flange. The threaded stem extends from the arrow tip locator. The at least one O-ring groove is formed in the arrow tip locator.

    Abstract: A crossbow with a built in cranking mechanism preferably includes a crank shaft, a one way bearing, a clutch, a reel shaft, a driven gear and at least one reel. The clutch preferably includes a clutch housing, a clutch pack and a pressure washer installed in a frame or stock of the crossbow. The clutch housing includes a clutch pack housing and a drive gear. The one way bearing and the clutch are retained on the crank shaft. A hand knob is threaded on to the crank shaft to exert pressure on the clutch pack. The driven gear is pressed on to the reel shaft. The at least one reel is retained on at least one end of the reel shaft. The hand knob is tightened against the clutch pack to frictionally engage the crank shaft with the drive gear. The drive gear rotates the at least one reel.

The one way bearing and the clutch are retained on the crank shaft. A hand knob is threaded on to a threaded end of the crank shaft to exert pressure on the clutch pack. The hand knob is tightened against the clutch pack to frictionally engage the crank shaft with the drive gear. The drive gear rotates the at least one reel.

At least one spacer may be inserted into the tubular limb. An end of the twin or split limb may be modified to have the same shape as the at least one spacer. Attachment of the tubular limb axle and the at least one spacer to the twin or split limbs may be implemented with adhesive, glue, cement or any suitable bonding substance. The tubular limb axle and at least one spacer may also be attached to twin or split limbs with at least one fastener.

First and second string carriages each include a string catch and a threaded tap. The threaded tap is sized to threadably receive the threaded drive shaft.

The first carbon fiber sheet includes a cross weave pattern of fibers, which cross each other at substantially 90 degrees. The second carbon fiber sheet includes the same cross weave pattern as the first carbon fiber sheet. One axis of the fibers of the second carbon fiber sheet is turned 45 degrees relative to the lengthwise axis. The third carbon fiber sheet includes the same cross weave pattern as the first carbon fiber sheet. One axis of the fibers of the third carbon fiber sheet is aligned with the lengthwise axis of the carbon fiber tube. The first, second and third carbon fiber sheets are baked in an autoclave.

The offset portion forms an angle of between 60-165 degrees with the base portion. One end of the bumper portion extends from an opposing end of the offset portion. The rubber bumper includes an inwardly curved front to receive a bowstring and a rod bore, which is sized to receive the bumper portion. The bumper portion is pushed into the rod bore. The base portion is retained in a riser of an archery bow.

The threaded stud is inserted through the weight hole and retained on the titanium stabilizer rod with a threaded nut. A lengthwise opening is preferably formed through an entire length of the titanium stabilizer rod.
