  • Publication number: 20180328751
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing physical navigation guidance via augmented reality (AR) environments are provided. An AR experience is generated based on navigation information including a starting location and a destination location. The AR experience comprises physical navigation guidance from the starting location to the destination location using virtual elements that are associated with either or both the starting location and/or the destination location. For example, virtual elements in the AR environment can transition from virtual elements associated with the starting location to virtual elements associated with the destination location as the user progresses from the starting location to the destination location.

  • Publication number: 20180260026
Abstract: An apparatus has a receiver that receives a biological response of a user to an event that occurs during a user experience. Further, the apparatus has a memory that stores one or more predefined criteria that indicate an expected biological response to the event. In addition, the apparatus has a processor that compares the biological response to the one or more predefined criteria and adjusts the user experience based at least upon the biological response failing to meet the one or more predefined criteria.

  • Patent number: 10069730
Abstract: The present disclosure provides for systems and methods for predictive delivery of high bit-rate content. The disclosed systems and methods provide an adaptive-bit-rate streaming (ABS) system with more robust information, thereby allowing more intelligent pre-caching of the media content. By providing greater information to the ABS system, the disclosed systems are able to foresee higher bit-rate segments that require greater attention, allowing the system to use such information to improve the playback experience.

  • Publication number: 20170301140
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for linking and interacting between augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) environments. An AR host system may capture or retrieve data associated with an AR view of a first user's real-world environment. The data may include an audio-visual stream of the real-world view, digital object data associated with digital objects overlaid on the real-world view, and other data. The AR host system transmits the data to a VR system. The VR system may place a second user into a VR environment that is a representation of the AR view. The VR system may also generate additional digital object data associated with the AR view and transmit the generated digital object data to the AR host system. The AR host system receives the digital object data and modifies the AR view presented to the first user.

  • Patent number: 9600220
Abstract: A process provides a multi-device display configuration. The process receives, at a master device, one or more device parameters from a plurality of display devices. The process also determines, at the master device, an arrangement of the plurality of display devices that provides a multi-device display. Further, the process sends, from the master device, one or more display indicia to the plurality of display devices that each of the plurality of display devices displays to allow one or more users to position the plurality of display devices in the arrangement. The process sends, from the master device, a first portion of the content to a first display device, and a second portion of the content to a second display device for the first and second display devices to simultaneously display the first and second portions of the content.

  • Publication number: 20170024385
Abstract: Systems and methods for creating dynamic, real-time visual representations of multimedia content. A temporal metadata visualization module receives a plurality of temporal metadata tags associated with a time code reference, representing a plurality of attributes of the multimedia content at the particular time. During playback, the temporal metadata virtualization module applies a set of display preferences and creates a visual representation of attributes identified by the temporal metadata tags at a particular time code reference. The visual representation changes based on the temporal metadata tags of a point within playback of the multimedia content, enhancing a user's experience and engagement with the multimedia content.

  • Publication number: 20160381411
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for enabling a user to bias the type of media content made available to a user account through a localized content dashboard. In one implementation, a method for adjusting media content availability associated with a user account configured to receive media content from a server system over a network, includes displaying on a content playback system a localized content dashboard, including: a summary of attributes of media content accessed by the user account, where the summary of the attributes is based on metadata associated with the accessed media content; and controls for biasing the attributes of media content delivered to the user account. The content playback system receives data corresponding to user input actuating one of the controls; and in response to receiving the data, transmits over the network to the server system data associated with the media content attribute biased by the user input.

  • Publication number: 20160373817
Abstract: Systems and methods for dynamically and automatically generating short-form versions of long-form media content are provided. The long-form media content may be tagged with metadata indicating objects or actions in frames, scenes, portions of scenes, or other units of the media content. The systems and methods may receive a user-specified time limit and use the metadata to create a short-form version of the long-form media content (using one or more of the scenes, portions of scenes, or other units of the media content), which preserves one or more story arcs within the media content.

  • Patent number: 9514489
Abstract: A process detects, at a first proximity-based device within a first object, presence of a second proximity-based device within a second object. The presence is within a proximity. • Patent number: 9514287
Abstract: A process verifies, with a processor, a user account for content delivery with a rolling slot configuration. The rolling slot configuration has a maximum quantity of available slots for devices authorized to receive content. The rolling slot configuration has a plurality of ordered slots that are ordered based upon priority. The process receives a request for content from the user account at a device. The process automatically registers the device in an available slot of the rolling slot configuration based upon a determination of slot availability. The process authorizes the device to play content associated with a user entitlement. The process automatically deauthorizes the device to play the content based upon a deauthorization parameter being met. The process removes a registration of the device from the available slot. The process moves a registration of an additional device with a higher priority than the device to the available slot.

  • Publication number: 20160261658
Abstract: Systems and methods for sharing protected media content are provided. Protected media content can be shared when at least a first and second user are proximately located. The first and second user can be bound or paired based on one or more identification indicia associated with first and second user devices utilized, owned, or operated by the first and second users, respectively. Upon pairing, media content from the first and second users' media content libraries can be shared. Additionally, proximate location can be leveraged to surface media content to other users, giving such other users the opportunity to discover new media content, and otherwise engage in transactions involving the new media content. Further still, the most popular media content associated with the second user or group of users proximate to the first user can be determined and used to prompt further interaction or display information regarding such popular media content.
