  • Publication number: 20150009148
Abstract: A flexible, scalable hardware input device for interacting with a variety of devices ranging from a phone, to a media playback device to a steering wheel or a tablet PC is provided. The input device includes a set of mechanical input controls, each mapping to one or more independent functions and a set of touch sensitive input control areas (e.g., capacitive), where each touch sensitive input control area receives touch input independently. In addition, one or more of the touch sensitive input control areas interchangeably overlay one or more of the mechanical input controls, whereby interaction with the touch sensitive input control areas is processed together to determine a corresponding function for controlling the application, service or computing device.

  • Patent number: 8522750
Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing automatic pressure balancing of an internal combustion engine. The engine includes cylinders, fuel injector valves provided to selectively deliver fuel directly into the cylinders, fuel-balancing valves each fluidly connected to the fuel injector valves for controlling the fuel delivered to the fuel injector valves and cylinder pressure sensors each mounted to one of the cylinders. The method comprises an automatic pressure balancing procedure including the steps of monitoring a cylinder pressure in each of the cylinders, determining a peak combustion pressure produced in each of the cylinders, calculating a mean peak pressure produced in all of the cylinders, calculating a pressure difference between the mean and the peak pressure and incrementally adjusting the fuel delivered by one of the fuel-balancing valves to the corresponding fuel injector valve mounted to the cylinder having the pressure difference larger than a predetermined pressure value.

  • Patent number: 8176499
Abstract: Platforms and techniques for defining, authorizing/authenticating, distributing, and presenting dynamic device experiences using a number of hierarchically-related, declarative language data structures, such as extensible markup language (“XML”) elements or attributes. A dynamic device experience is presented when two electronic devices are in communication via a communication medium. The data structures are processed to present a graphical user interface to a user—the graphical user interface implements a dynamic device experience associated with the other electronic device. In one exemplary scenario, independent hardware vendors (“IHVs”) author XML documents that include device experience information (such as branding or advertising information, access to Web services or applications, and access to device functionality), in the form of items of data stored in the data structures.

  • Patent number: 8043177
Abstract: A broadhead for an arrow has a ferrule and a pair of blade members. Each blade member has a first end that is pivotally interconnected with the ferrule body and an opposite second end. The blade members each have a retracted position and an extended position. A biasing member biases the blade members toward the extended positions and is the only element operable to hold the blade members in the extended position.

  • Publication number: 20070089722
Abstract: Friendly fire archery bow, is the solution for the archery bow hunter to remain undetected while shooting at game animals. Or being detected without being recognized as the enemy. This archery accessory is a way to disguise the noise an archery bow makes when fired. The scope of this product is to make an artificial sound that is non threatening to game animals when the archery bow is fired. Or an added bonus is to call or attract more game animals while attempting to harvest the present animals. Edward Flanagan shows three examples of how this can be accomplished. One is the bellow type animal call (12) FIG. 1 activated by bow limb (28) movement when the bow (10) is fired. The call could be crow, turkey, squirrel, deer, fox, duck, and rabbit squealer etcetera. The second is a bellow type animal call FIG. 2 (46) activated by compound archery bow cable movement. The third is a air pump activated animal call FIG. 3 (62) that functions when the bow is fired.

  • Publication number: 20030005618
Abstract: A leg hold trap for trapping an animal including a base pivotally mounting a pair of clamping jaws, and a pair of springs for moving the clamping jaws between open, spaced apart, set positions and closed leg clamping positions clamping the leg of an animal there-between. A pair of launch arms are mounted on each of the springs for reacting with the underlying terrain and upwardly launching the base and the clamping jaws as the clamping jaws are moving between the open and closed positions. The pairs of launching arms are swingably moveable about first and second spaced apart axes. The launch arms each include launching rods of a predetermined breadth and a launching pad of substantially increased breadth having a terminal end disposed between the axes.
