Abstract: A method for providing deep linking activities with digital rights management. In an exemplary embodiment, the method includes identifying a hypertext link on a source web page as a deep link and, upon selecting the deep link, accessing a deep link table associated with the deep link. The hypertext link refers to a target web page on a target web site. The deep link table contains web page links and rules operable for establishing web content that is to be presented to a visitor of the target web site. The method also includes displaying web content to the visitor in accordance with the rules. The invention also includes a system and a storage medium.

Abstract: A solution is presented to keep track of the URLs that have been visited within an HTML file, identify the location or exit point of the last line that was displayed on a screen in a multi-screen HTML file, and return to the exact exit point location upon reentry to the web page by computing which section of the HTML file to display on the screen, and then displaying this section. The identification of whether a web page has changed after it has been visited by a user is also presented. A cyclic redundancy check is performed, comparing the current cyclic redundancy number with the last cyclic redundancy number obtained when the screen of exited multi-screen HTML file was last visited. If the web page has changed, the user has the option of viewing the web page at the top screen or going to the screen that contains the last exit position of the HTML file that was previously viewed.

Abstract: An exemplary embodiment of the invention relates to a method, system, and storage medium for performing calendaring and reminder activities for a computer user. The method includes analyzing text displayed on a computer screen, identifying calendar parameters resulting from the analysis, creating a calendar entry record that includes a source of the calendar parameters, pasting the calendar parameters into the calendar entry record, and automatically storing the calendar entry record in a calendar application without opening the calendar application. Calendar parameters include at least one of a date, a time, a meeting type, and a subject.

Abstract: An exemplary embodiment of the invention relates to a method, system, and storage medium for providing autonomic identification of an important message addressed to a recipient email subscriber. The method includes scanning an email message received over a network operable for identifying a Uniform Resource Locator contained in the email message. If a Uniform Resource Locator is found, the Uniform Resource Locator is compared to the contents of a history file that stores a listing of Uniform Resource Locators previously accessed by the recipient email subscriber. The method also includes performing analytics for the Uniform Resource Locator based upon said contents of the history file, resulting in a rating assigned to the Uniform Resource Locator. If the rating meets a minimum standard set for qualifying the Uniform Resource Locator as relevant, the email message is flagged as relevant and forwarded to the recipient email subscriber.

Abstract: An exemplary embodiment of the invention relates to a method, system, and storage medium for providing search and reference functions for a messaging system. The method comprises receiving a request to search a data archive for reference information relating to at least one keyword selected by a messaging system user while the messaging system user is actively engaged in composing a message or a response to a message. The keyword is selected from the body of text contained in the message. The method further includes searching the data archive and, if a reference is found, presenting the reference to the messaging system user within the message. The data archive includes information gathered from the messaging system user's message folder and at least one of a local data storage system, and a shared online repository. Embodiments of the invention also include a system and a storage medium.

Abstract: An exemplary embodiment of the invention relates to a method, system, and storage medium for providing interoperability of email and instant messaging services. The method includes receiving a request by an email recipient to respond to an email message using an instant message application, retrieving an instant message address for the email sender from storage, and associating the instant message address of the email sender with an instant message composed by the email recipient. The retrieval of the instant message address for the email sender is accomplished by mapping the email sender's address with a corresponding instant message address for the email sender. The method further includes transmitting the instant message to the instant message address using the message application. Other embodiments include a system and a storage medium.

Abstract: An exemplary embodiment of the invention relates to a method, system, and storage medium for providing web-based electronic research and presentation functions via a document creation application. The method comprises scanning an active document on a computer device for identifying relevant keywords, and searching at least one database for reference materials relating to the relevant keywords. The active document includes data currently being entered or edited by a user on the computer device. Results relevant to the active document are automatically shown on the computer screen. The method also includes converting the reference materials if they are in a format different from the format used in creating the active document, and displaying the converted reference materials on the computer device. Embodiments of the invention also include a system and a storage medium.

Abstract: In automotive GPS navigation systems, a traveler's agenda with multiple desired destinations can be entered in a largely automatic fashion by downloading an agenda table created using the agenda replicator system and methods disclosed herein. The replicator system includes computer hardware and software systems, operable by a user, to acquire and store, apart from a vehicle and its GPS navigation system, personal travel agenda information for later transfer to a storage subsystem of the vehicle's GPS navigation system. The hardware system may be implemented as a desktop or laptop computer, or even a personal digital assistant. The software system includes program components for controlling the hardware and providing a data structure in which personal travel information selected by the user is placed in an agenda table. The replicator system includes means for transferring the information from this data structure into a storage subsystem of the vehicle's GPS navigation system.

Abstract: Systems and methods for processing autonomic e-mails, which each have at least one unique identifying number attached to them, are disclosed. Internally within an organization, e-mails are often sent to multiple recipients, such as to all members of a particular distribution list, to request information or ask that a task be performed by one or more, but less than all, of those recipients. The disclosed systems and methods help minimize the overall time burden to those recipients in responding to or trying to track such e-mails, and help the sender and recipients alike more easily view, manage and control such e-mails and their ultimate disposition, including the sender's e-mail and the plurality of responses sent by recipients. Separate viewable areas for each string or chain of related autonomic e-mails within each user's e-mail in-box and other e-mail storage areas are provided.

Abstract: A software application and corresponding architecture to implement the application that dynamically updates the access control list and keeps track of the distribution routes of a document in a repository where the document is built and accessed through usage of a common email system. The access control list and distribution routes are built by tracking recipients of the email message linked to the document. Some recipients can be disabled by the originator from forwarding the referenced databases within the emailed document, while others may designate further transmissions to selected persons or groups.

Abstract: A method employing a software application for operation for analyzing conversational patterns between people and teams within an organization, locating inconsistencies in the required and actual access level to knowledge repositories, which ultimately results in dynamically updating access control lists of the knowledge repositories, and having the originator and anticipated users being prompted to further enable informed, fact-based manual control of the access control lists.

Abstract: A graphics display subsystem providing internally timed time-varying properties of display attributes is provided. The graphics display subsystem comprises a display device for displaying consecutive image frames of pixels having a variable display property, and a circuit for transferring image frames to the display device. One or more pixels are selected when a display attribute associated with the one or more pixels is set in an attribute table. The circuit varies, during a selected time interval, the display property of the selected pixels being displayed on the display device. In preferred embodiments, the variable display property is either a stereo image display, an image brightness control, or an image-blending control.

Abstract: A method and apparatus which produces a semitransparent cursor for a video display presenting simultaneous viewing access to both the cursor and the underlying image information. At the on-screen location of the cursor, the viewer is able to simultaneously view and distinguish between the cursor and the underlying graphical data. In one form, the method includes the steps of obtaining the red, green, and blue video pixel data for each pixel representing at least a portion of the cursor; halving the numerical value of each datum of red, green, and blue video pixel data; injecting a binary value into the most significant bit of each datum to obtain modified red, green, and blue video pixel data; and providing modified red, green, and blue video pixel data to a video display.

Abstract: A document dispenser comprises a document guide defining a guide portion of an advancing document path and a document identification code reading aperture formed in the document guide wherein a single detector in communication with the dispenser controller is positioned proximate the document identification code reading aperture and is operative to read a specific document identification code through the document identification code reading aperture. Correlated data, indicative of a specific document identification code and corresponding document data input during dispensing of a document carrying the specific document identification code, is generated subsequent the reading of the identification code. A plurality of alternative document identification code reading apertures are formed in the document guide.

Abstract: The graphics display system comprises a data bus for transferring a set of application pixels, wherein a set consists of W number of blocks of data, and wherein each application pixel is M number of blocks. The graphics display system further comprises an address bus for transferring memory addresses, a graphics controller for outputting pixel data on the data bus at a rate of one set per memory clock cycle and for outputting one or more column addresses on the address bus for each set, and a graphics memory configured for a memory field size of N number of blocks such that an application pixel being stored is allocated N blocks. A set of application pixels is transferred over the data bus to the graphics memory, and, one or more column addresses are transferred over the address bus during the a memory clock cycle over the address bus. In addition, a row address is transferred to the graphics memory.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for a computer graphics system identifies the format of video pixel data in a data stream having a plurality of data formats including a first pixel data format and a second pixel data format, the second pixel data format being a YUV format. The method comprises the steps of (a) receiving pixel data; (b) selecting an output channel in response to at least one particular value of at least one bit of each received pixel datum wherein the particular value identifies the data format as either the first pixel data format or the YUV format; and (c) providing the pixel data to the selected output channel. Also provided is a circuit in a video graphics controller and a computer system having such circuit according to the method.
