  • Publication number: 20080242516
Abstract: Described is an exercise apparatus for providing elliptical foot motion that utilizes a pair of rocking links suspended from an upper portion of the apparatus frame permitting at least limited arcuate motion of the lower portions of the links. Foot pedal assemblies are connected to rotating shafts or members located on the lower portion of the links such that the foot pedals will describe a generally elliptical path in response to user foot motion on the pedals.

  • Publication number: 20080053002
Abstract: A solution for forming a polishing slurry, the polishing slurry and related methods are disclosed. The solution for forming a polishing slurry may include 1 H-benzotriazole (BTA) dissolved in an ionic surfactant such as a sodium alkyl sulfate solution, and perhaps a polyacrylic acid (PAA) solution. The solution can be filtered and used in a polishing slurry. This approach to solubilizing BTA results in a high BTA concentration in a polishing slurry without addition of foreign components to the slurry or increased safety hazard. In addition, the solution is easier to ship because it is very stable (e.g., can be frozen and thawed) and has less volume compared to conventional approaches. Further, the polishing slurry performance is vastly improved due to the removal of particles that can cause scratching.

  • Publication number: 20070275281
Abstract: The invention provides fuel cell systems and methods of operation where a fuel cell system is used as a backup power supply in a cold environment where the system must be maintained at a suitable temperature to allow the fuel cell to operate when needed. In one embodiment, the invention provides a thermal protection system for a fuel cell backup power generator. An enclosure houses a fuel cell and a coolant circuit. The coolant circuit is coupled to the fuel cell. A temperature sensor is provided that is adapted to indicate a system temperature. A heater is provided to increase the system temperature when actuated. For example, the heater can be an electric resistive heater or a burner coupled to a combustible fuel supply such as a propane tank. The heater can be located in the interior of the enclosure, in the coolant circuit, etc. A control circuit is provided that is adapted to actuate the heater when the system temperature is below a predetermined threshold.

  • Patent number: 7194506
Abstract: A method and system are disclosed for cache management and regeneration of dynamically-generated locale-sensitive content (DGLSC) in one or more server computers within a client-server computer network. One embodiment of the method of this invention can comprise receiving a request for content from a user at a client computer and determining the user's locale preference with, for example, an automatic locale detection algorithm. The requested content can be dynamically generated from a template as DGLSC based on the user locale preference. If the template is a cacheable template, a locale-sensitive filename can be generated for the DGLSC based on the user locale preference. The locale-sensitive filename can be associated with the DGLSC.

  • Publication number: 20070040239
Abstract: In the course of forming a resistor in the back end of an integrated circuit, an intermediate dielectric layer is deposited and a trench etched through it and into a lower dielectric layer by a controllable amount, so that the top of a resistor layer deposited in the trench is close in height to the top of the lower dielectric layer; the trench is filled and the resistor layer outside the trench is removed, after which a second dielectric layer is deposited. Vias passing through the second dielectric layer to contact the resistor then have the same depth as vias contacting metal interconnects in the lower dielectric layer. A tri-layer resistor structure is employed in which the resistive film is sandwiched between two protective layers that block diffusion between the resistor and BEOL ILD layers.

  • Patent number: 7146369
Abstract: A method and system are provided for native-byte form handling, one embodiment comprising a method for encoding user-submitted native-byte form data in a client-server computer network. A user, at a client computer, can select a Uniform Resource Locator (“URL”) with his or her web browser for access to a content provider's website. When accessing the content provider's web server, the client computer can transmit client computer specific information to the web server that can be used by the web server to determine the user's locale. The web server can determine the user's (client computer's) locale using, for example, an automatic locale detection algorithm, and forward the user's locale information to a back-end server. The content provider's back-end server can generate a locale-specific form having a pre-populated, uniquely-named field, using, for example, a dynamic page generation program. The locale-specific form can be served to the user's web browser for display to the user.

  • Publication number: 20060153075
Abstract: A system and method for providing security to a wireless network by using a mobile node's location as a parameter for deciding if access is to be given to the node. The system and method employ access points, wireless routers and mobile nodes, each including at least one transceiver adapted to transmit and receive communication signals to and from other wireless routers, mobile nodes and other mobile access points. Each access point is connected to a network management system which allows enhanced network monitoring and control. Each network node includes technology which may determine an absolute node location containing latitude, longitude and altitude of a node, or a relative node location containing the distance and angle between nodes, or a combination of both absolute and relative location data.

  • Publication number: 20050204022
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide an abstraction for the representation of a network device's configuration and management data that is not tied to a particular protocol or network device implementation but is, instead, an original, general format used as source for producing multiple, alternate and/or equivalent representations that exist and occur simultaneously within a system of network devices. Other embodiments of the invention utilize XML abstraction as the input to a system of software code generators that can produce application programming interfaces used to communicate and manage network devices that support specific management protocols and representations.
