According to one embodiment of the present invention, a method for executing carrier management by a terminal in a communication system which supports the multi-carrier comprises the steps of: receiving a signal which indicates control channel allocation for a 1st carrier from a base station; receiving a signal which indicates control channel de-allocation for a 2nd carrier from the base station; activating the 1st carrier if the 1st carrier on which the control channel allocation is indicated is in an inactivate state; and inactivating the 2nd carrier if the 2nd carrier on which the control channel de-allocation is indicates is in an activated state.

The MAC header part includes a first header part containing a generic MAC header, and a second header part containing an extended header indicator serving as a 1-bit indicator for indicating the existence of an extended header (EH) for each flow ID for each of the plurality of connections.     Abstract: A method is described for transmitting signals in a mobile communication system which splits an information block into a plurality of split-information blocks and performs a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process upon each of the split-information blocks. A method is also described for reducing control information overhead by transmitting control information only through one control channel when splitting an information block and transmitting split-information blocks through a plurality of subframes or a plurality of resource blocks. The segmentation of the information block is performed in a physical layer to reduce medium access control (MAC) overhead and to simplify implementation.
