Publication number: 20210091983Abstract: A method and apparatus for processing a signal to generate equalizer codes, which are used to control equalization of the signal, that comprises processing the signal to identify the eyes of the signal, and for each eye, calculating an eye height and calculating a noise value. For each eye, squaring the eye height to generate an eye height product and dividing the eye height product by the noise value to generate a Q2 value. Using the calculated Q2 values optimizing, through adaptation, the equalizer codes. Calculating the noise values may include calculating an ISI value for each band of the signal and then calculating the eye height for each eye as the difference between the adjacent upper average value and the adjacent lower average value. Then, for each eye, calculating a noise value by summing the ISI value for the band above the eye and the band below the eye.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 18, 2020Publication date: March 25, 2021Inventors: George L. Publication number: 20210057840Abstract: A power delivery system for a hardware processor includes a motherboard (MB), a voltage regulator (VR), an elastomer computer socket, and a plurality of power delivery paths within the socket. The socket connects the MB to the processor and comprises a first set of power pins that is connected to the processor by surface mount elements, and a second set of power pins that is not connected to the processor by surface mount elements. The plurality of electrical power delivery paths deliver VR power from the second set of C power pins to the first set of power pins for power delivery to the processor. The alignment frame aligns the processor, the plurality of power pins, and the MB. The plurality of power paths alone may meet the power demands of the processor. If not, a power plane from the MB provides additional power.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 29, 2018Publication date: February 25, 2021Inventors: Yi Huang, Fernando Gonzalez Lenero, Liwei Zhao

Patent number: 10863302Abstract: Examples generate a route point radius for a geofence. A point of interest (POI) is identified. The coordinates for a route point on a navigational path associated with the POI is obtained. A distance from the coordinates of the route point to the POI is determined to generate a radius. An extension amount to encompass at least a portion of the navigational path is added to the radius to generate a route point radius. A contextual environment of a user traveling on the navigational path is utilized to adjust the route point radius. The contextual environment includes the mode of travel and/or the direction of travel of the user. A geofence is generated based on at least one route point radius associated with the POI. An alert is triggered when a user crosses a perimeter of the geofence encompassing the portion of the navigational path.Type: GrantFiled: September 26, 2016Date of Patent: December 8, 2020Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Fernando Gonzalez, Hiep Khuu

Publication number: 20200045055Abstract: Techniques described herein provide multi-factor authentication based on positioning data. Generally described, configurations disclosed herein enable a system to authorize a particular action using positioning data, and possibly other data, associated with an identity. For example, when a user wishes to change a password or access a secured account, the system can authenticate a user if a device associated with the user is located in the secure area. The system can authenticate a user if a requested operation and/or a predetermined pattern of movement associated with the user is detected. For instance, the system allows the user to change the password when the user's computer has followed a predetermined pattern of movement, and when one or more verification procedures meets one or more criteria while the location of the computing device is within the predetermined area.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 10, 2019Publication date: February 6, 2020Inventors: Stephen P. Patent number: 10301055Abstract: The present invention refers to an improved dispensing system for liquid dispensing in the form of drops, comprising: a cap; a dosage unit having a skirt showing a protrusion or edge at its lower end; and a container having a shoulder surface located at the inner part of the shoulder, wherein the shoulder surface holds the dosage unit through interfering with said protrusion or edge of the insert thus avoiding that the dosage unit can be removed from the container. While opening the improved dispensing system according to the present invention, a ring attached to the cap body breaks in sections, preventing said ring to be relocated in the cap and, thus, avoiding that the dosage unit can be reused for filling a different substance.Type: GrantFiled: March 30, 2016Date of Patent: May 28, 2019Assignee: Andres Fernando Gonzalez SierraInventor: Andrés Fernando González Sierra
