  • Patent number: 9807609
Abstract: Techniques are described for activating multiple profiles on a shared mobile computing device. Each profile can be used to establish a connection with an instance of an application where the application instances can potentially be hosted on different servers. Due to the fact that the activation process to activate a profile on the shared device can be time consuming and require interacting with other devices or servers, the techniques described allow multiple profiles to be activated on a shared mobile computing device. Access to each of the profiles is controlled by a login process. During logging out of a profile, the cache of the shared mobile computing device can be cleared to improve security.

  • Publication number: 20170135142
Abstract: Systems, methods, architectures, and computer program products for linking multiple devices are disclosed. In an example for linking a mobile device with a desktop device, an identifier of a mobile device can be received from a desktop computer. The identifier can be used to send a link to the mobile device. When the link is accessed, a code and a channel are generated. The mobile device is connected to the channel and the code is provided to the mobile device. The code is entered at the desktop device and the desktop device is connected to the channel responsive to the code being validated, thereby linking the desktop and mobile devices.

  • Publication number: 20160220172
Abstract: A handheld, conforming capacitive sensing apparatus configured to measure Sub-Epidermal Moisture (SEM) as a mean to detect and monitor the formation of pressure ulcers. The device incorporates an array of electrodes which are excited to measure and scan SEM in a programmable and multiplexed manner by a battery-less RF-powered chip. The scanning operation is initiated by an interrogator which excites a coil embedded in the apparatus and provides the needed energy burst to support the scanning/reading operation. Each electrode measures the equivalent sub-epidermal capacitance corresponding and representing the moisture content.

  • Patent number: 8869131
Abstract: A method for downgrading firmware in a controller is provided. The method includes receiving a request, by the controller, to downgrade the firmware from a current version to an older version. For a feature implemented in the current version and not implemented in the older version, the method includes determining if the feature is currently in-use by the controller. If the feature is currently in-use by the controller, the method includes warning a user and abandoning the request. If the feature is not currently in-use by the controller, the method includes checking other features implemented in the current version and not implemented in the older version, and repeating determining, providing, abandoning, and checking, and downgrading the firmware, if all of the features implemented in the current version and not implemented in the older version are not currently in-use by the controller.

  • Patent number: 8801947
Abstract: Methods for forming microlenses on a semiconductor substrate are provided. An inductively coupled plasma etch process using a process gas that includes a mixture of CF4 and CHF3 can be used to modify the lens shape of a plurality of microlens objects located on a semiconductor substrate to meet microlens specifications in terms of curvature, height, length, shape, and/or distance between adjacent microlens objects on the substrate. The inductively coupled plasma process can be performed in an inductively coupled plasma processing apparatus that includes a grounded Faraday shield to prevent any capacitive coupling during the plasma etching process to reduce sputtering of the microlens surface.
